Mesh Code 0.2.4
Mesh Code now installs on macOS, Linux and Windows, and asks less in Bypass.
Linux and Windows builds. This is the first release with an x86_64 AppImage and a Windows installer alongside the Apple Silicon DMG. The same one-liners work on all three:
curl -fsSL https://code.meshapi.ai/install.sh | shpowershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://code.meshapi.ai/install.ps1 | iex"If a platform has no build yet, the installer now says so and lists the builds that exist, instead of blaming your network.
Bypass stopped asking about rm -f. A single-file delete, including one inside a script, no longer triggers the safety check. Recursive deletes and anything aimed at / or ~ still ask, in every mode.
Long sessions got lighter. A pasted screenshot stays in the turn you sent it and is dropped from later turns instead of riding along on every step, and attachments are downscaled before sending. Plan updates are nudged to travel with the work they describe rather than as separate steps.
Linux note: AppImages need libfuse2 (sudo apt install libfuse2), or run with --appimage-extract-and-run.
Mesh Code 0.2.3
Stop now stops right away.
The Stop button could take seconds to do anything. Mesh Code only checked for the click between chunks of the model's reply, so while the model was thinking with nothing on the wire, or while a shell command was still running, the click sat unheard until the next token or the command's end. The engine now watches for it continuously: a stop during a silent stretch closes the connection within a tenth of a second, and a stop during a running command kills that command and its children immediately instead of waiting out its timeout.
The button also acknowledges the click. It dims and pulses until the engine confirms the turn has ended, so a click is never silently swallowed.
Install or upgrade:
curl -fsSL https://code.meshapi.ai/install.sh | shMesh Code 0.2.2
Spend is now what the gateway actually billed, updated as the turn runs.
Session cost showed $0.000000 on a 1.5M-token session. The chat completion response from Mesh carries token counts but no cost, so Mesh Code estimated it from the catalogue, and for some models the lookup found nothing. Mesh does record the billed figure for every request, keyed by its request id, and it is available about a quarter of a second after the stream closes. Mesh Code now looks each step up there as soon as it finishes and adds the real figure to the running total, so the session bar ticks with billed cost mid-turn instead of a guess. The catalogue estimate, still marked with ~, only appears when that lookup cannot be reached.

curl -fsSL https://code.meshapi.ai/install.sh | shMesh Code 0.2.1
A fix release for two things that bit in real use.
Spend showed $0.0000 on a million-token session. When the gateway reports no cost, Mesh Code estimates it from the catalogue. It was looking the model up by the name the gateway echoed back, which for some models is not the catalogue id, so nothing matched and the figure stayed at zero. It now prices the model you actually asked for. Estimates are still marked with ~, and the spend popover says so when a figure could not be computed at all.
"Max steps per turn" could change by accident. The number field saved on every keystroke, and scrolling the settings sheet with it focused could step the value. It now saves when you leave the field or press Enter, and the wheel no longer changes it. If a turn of yours stopped early with "stopped after 2 hops", check that setting and put it back to 0 (unlimited).
Mesh Code 0.2.0
The workbench release — files, references and chrome, reworked from a screenshot-by-screenshot review.
Files open beside the chat. Click a file and it opens as a tab in the right panel instead of a modal, with syntax colouring and line numbers. Pop it out to a large overlay when you want room, dock it back with Esc. Markdown renders, HTML renders in a sandboxed frame (with a Preview / Code switch), PDFs use the built-in viewer, images just display.
Point the agent at files. Type @ in the composer to pick any file in the project, drag a file from the tree onto the message box, or use Mention in the tree. Each reference is a badge on the message, and clicking a badge in a sent message opens that file.
Cleaner replies. The agent no longer pastes a whole file back into chat after writing it, and any code it does show lands in a proper code block.
Less chrome. The sidebar collapses (⌘B), its navigation is one row of icons, and closed projects can be removed from it with a hover ×. The right panel's tabs are icons so they fit at any width. Model and routing are one control: the pill names whatever decides the model, and its popover holds the routing switch, the effort dial and the router's pick for the prompt you are typing.
Models. A Refresh button in Settings › Model fetches the latest models and prices from Mesh API on demand.
Fixes. Menu text no longer runs past its box, the tour stays on screen, the file viewer header keeps the file name at narrow widths, and light is the default theme.
Under the hood. New token-gated /raw/… route serves workspace files by URL for the rendered views; find.files indexes the project for the @ picker; catalog refetch on request. The renderer's CSP is unchanged.
Mesh Code 0.1.4
The feedback release — tell us how it's going without leaving the app.
In-app beta feedback. The sidebar's beta card now opens a centered
dialog: rate Mesh Code with a tap (1–5 stars) and optionally say what's
working and what's broken. About 15 seconds, and the only required part
is the tap.
No browser, no account. Submissions are relayed in the background by
the local engine — you never leave the app, and nothing asks you to sign
in anywhere.
Under the hood. New token-gated /api/feedback route on the engine;
the renderer's CSP stays as locked down as before.
Mesh Code 0.1.3
The persistence release — restarts no longer lose anything.
Sessions survive restarts. Conversations snapshot to disk and restore on
launch — transcript, plan, cost and token totals intact. The next prompt
continues the same conversation. Closing a project is what deletes its
history; nothing else does.
One project, many chats. The sidebar's Projects panel has a Files | Chats
toggle: each project lists its conversations (named by the first thing you
asked), switchable in place, with + New chat. Stable order, active shown by
highlight.
The project journal. A per-project notebook the agent maintains
automatically — how to run it (proven commands + URLs), what's built (the
plan as a checklist), learnings, recent work. Injected into every new
session so a fresh session (or a small model) runs the project instead of
rebuilding it. Visible in the new Journal rail tab.
Reliability.
- start_server adopts the port the process ACTUALLY bound (vite on :4000 no
longer times out against an auto-picked port). - Auto mode is workspace-contained: shell commands writing outside the open
project come back as a question with the reason named. - The file tree refreshes when a turn ends, so shell-created files appear.
Design.
- shadcn-aligned proportions: radius scale (4/6/8/12), control heights
(28/32/36), elevated tab triggers, dialog and menu rhythm. - One drawn icon family on a strict size ladder — no more text-glyph carets.
- Responsive: rail tabs wrap on narrow rails, the sidebar adapts to its own
width, cost/token readouts never get squeezed out. - Overlay pass: opaque surfaces, one hairline, one shadow, tinted dialog
footers.

Mesh Code 0.1.2
One sidebar, one mental model.
- Projects panel replaces the separate sessions list and per-folder file panels: each project is one row — click it and you get its chat and its files. VS Code-style sections: full-width rows, chevrons, hairline dividers, the active project shown by highlight (never by reordering — the list keeps the order you opened things in).
- One filter box across every project; busy projects show a pulse on their row; right-click a project for New file / New folder / Refresh / Close project (finally a way to end a session).
- Switching projects now actually switches the file tree — it used to stay stuck on the previous project's files.
- The tree refreshes when a turn ends, so files the agent creates through shell commands appear without collapsing/re-expanding.
Install / upgrade:
curl -fsSL https://code.meshapi.ai/install.sh | shSHA-256: 48386981b159ef2c50bde0ec2091ccb6837af346da1d9ae9468d9877f2070cca
Mesh Code 0.1.1
Reliability and containment.
- Explorer stays in sync: directory listings refresh when a turn ends, so files the agent creates through shell commands (
npm create …) appear immediately — previously only direct file writes updated the tree. - Workspace containment in Auto mode: shell commands that write outside the open project (redirects,
ln/cp/mv/mkdir/… targeting absolute paths elsewhere) now come back as a question with the reason named. Bypass keeps its explicit approve-everything contract. - start_server hardened: a port named in the command wins over auto-pick, bare
python -m http.servergets the port appended, restarting an already-running server is refused with guidance, and chatty pre-bind output can no longer deadlock the launch. - Smart routing escalates mid-turn: a struggling model climbs the effort ladder and settles back down after clean progress.
- run_bash cards no longer bury the command under a
cd "<workspace>" &&prefix.
Install / upgrade:
curl -fsSL https://code.meshapi.ai/install.sh | shSHA-256: 66732f6067030588a3712de56cc0a47c3120f8fe4ac6f941eed1a2336139e482
Mesh Code 0.1.0
First public build — macOS (Apple Silicon).
Install:
curl -fsSL https://code.meshapi.ai/install.sh | sh(or sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/aifiesta/mesh-code/main/install.sh)" until the DNS is live)
The installer verifies the download against SHA256SUMS and clears the macOS
quarantine flag only after that check passes. A directly-downloaded dmg needs
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Mesh Code.app" after
copying, until this build is notarised.
