Codex Mode v1.1.0 remembers the switch.

Highlights

  • The Codex switch is now a profile-wide preference stored in the codex_mode storage domain.
  • Turning it on or off applies to every live root session, preserving each session's Read Only / Workspace Write / Full access level.
  • New and resumed sessions inherit the remembered state automatically.
  • The same toggle is available as a Host command: /codex-mode on and /codex-mode off.
  • Auto review is disabled while Codex is on because there is no codex-auto identity.
  • The menu still stays open, keeps all permission rows visually stable, and animates the Codex mark.

Upgrade note

Update the bundle, then refresh the DSH page once to load the new client. A page opened before this update still falls back to the old per-session switch until refreshed.

Verification

  • Toggled off: four live root sessions changed from codex-workspace-write to workspace-write; all persisted as disabled.
  • Toggled on: all four returned to codex-workspace-write; storage recorded enabled: true.
  • Created a fresh root agent: it inherited codex-workspace-write without a per-session toggle.
  • /codex-mode command returned success for both directions.

Initial public release of Codex Mode for DeepSeek Harness.

Highlights

  • Codex switch at the top of the permission menu, independent of sandbox level.
  • Durable progress commentary before tool batches: a tool-only model step gets a localized progress block inserted by the host driver.
  • Turn continuation when the todo list still has unfinished work.
  • No busy dimming or menu reflow while toggling; 240 ms Codex mark slide animation.
  • Same Full access and Auto review safety gates as the stock control.

Notes

This is a Codex step driver, not a fork of DSH's tool scheduler. DSH still owns tool dispatch, approvals, retries, compaction, and the event log.
