SHRD Privacy Policy

SHRD ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Akos Komuves. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application SHRD (the "App").
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Hungarian data protection laws.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

- Phone Number: Required for account creation and verification via SMS.
- Display Name: The name you choose to identify yourself to other users.
- Feedback and Reports: Any ratings, reviews, or reports you submit about other users.
- Location Data: Your pickup location and destination when you actively search for ride-sharing partners. Location is only collected when you initiate a search and stops when you end your session.
- Device Information: Device identifiers for push notification delivery.
- Usage Data: App interaction data for service improvement.
- Chat Messages: Messages exchanged with other users are processed by CometChat (our messaging provider).
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Connect you with nearby users traveling in similar directions
- Enable in-app messaging between connected users
- Send push notifications about nearby riders and connection requests
- Calculate estimated ride cost splits
- Process user reports and maintain community safety
- Improve and optimize the App
We process your personal data based on:
- Contract Performance: Processing necessary to provide the App's services (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- Legitimate Interests: Improving our services and ensuring platform safety (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
- Consent: For optional features and marketing communications (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR)
- Your display name and general location (pickup area and destination direction) are visible to nearby users when you are actively searching.
- Your exact addresses are not shared with other users.
We use third-party services that process data on our behalf:

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion request.
- Chat Messages: Retained for up to 90 days, managed by CometChat.
- Location Data: Not permanently stored; only used in real-time during active sessions.
- Reports: Retained for up to 2 years for safety and legal purposes.
As an EU resident, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction: Request limited processing of your data
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time (where applicable)

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Secure authentication via Firebase
- Access controls and authentication for data systems
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States (where our service providers operate). These transfers are protected by:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- Service providers' compliance with applicable data protection frameworks
The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending a notification through the App for significant changes
Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
