Download

Platform File Link
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) magicpdf-setup.exe Download
macOS 11 Big Sur or newer magicpdf-macos.dmg Download

These links always resolve to the newest release. A friendlier download page lives at download.amsol.ca.

Installing on Windows

magicpdf-setup.exe is a self-contained portable executable — run it directly, there is no install wizard. Windows SmartScreen may warn that the publisher is unrecognised because the build is not code-signed; choose More info → Run anyway.

Installing on macOS

  1. Open magicpdf-macos.dmg.
  2. Double-click Install to Applications.command. If macOS blocks it, right-click it, choose Open, then Open again.
  3. Magic PDF is copied to your Applications folder and opens.

You can also drag Magic PDF.app into Applications yourself, then run this once so macOS stops blocking it:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Magic PDF.app"

macOS requirements

macOS 11 (Big Sur) or newer, and Python 3.10+. Check with python3 --version; if it is missing, install it with brew install python3 or from python.org.

The first launch downloads the app's components (about 200 MB) into ~/Library/Application Support/Magic PDF/venv and shows progress in a Terminal window. This happens once; later launches start immediately. The log is at ~/Library/Application Support/Magic PDF/setup.log.

Uninstalling

Drag Magic PDF.app to the Trash, then delete ~/Library/Application Support/Magic PDF.

Note on signing

These builds are not code-signed or notarised, which is why the Windows SmartScreen warning and the macOS quarantine step above are needed. Signing requires paid Apple and Windows developer certificates.
