Description

Currently, BentoPDF does not offer the option to edit existing text in a PDF file directly. It would be very helpful if users could edit existing text sections (e.g., typos, sentence changes, or formatting) directly without having to reposition or overlay the entire content.

• What functionality are you requesting?
  A feature for editing existing text in PDF documents.
  Users should be able to select text, modify it (e.g., delete, add, correct), and automatically update the layout.
• Why is this useful?
  Small corrections often need to be made (e.g., spelling mistakes, numbers, or names). A native editing function would make working with PDFs much more efficient and professional.
• Any example or context to illustrate it?
  Perhaps the PDF would first have to be converted to HTML in the background and then back to PDF?

The first thing I was searching for and ended up a little disappointed. I guess it is a hard thing to do as most commercial tools offer it only as premium feature.

It's possible but at the same time it's the hardest thing to do, as PDF wasn't meant to be an editable format, hence its a premium feature, and only Adobe does it best. I've some ideas in mind, Easiest would be to convert to html and let users edit it, but the formatting would completely break

I would be very grateful if you could make this possible. I think it would be a great advantage for the application. But I also understand that it is difficult to implement because PDF was never really intended to be edited. If I can help in any way, please let me know.

The best thing I can do now is to integrate libreoffice draw. But the wasm File alone is 150MB+

I can imagine this as a temporary solution, but it greatly increases the image size.

I've read online about PDFium and that it is capable of editing text?

Not sure if you are aware or if is useful to know, but Stirling released a new alpha version with existing text edit.
