馃ぉ New: Readers can save your note into their own vault
Turn on Include Markdown source in shared notes in the plugin settings and your shared pages get a 馃捑 Save note button (see an example). Anyone with Obsidian and Share Note installed can click it to save a copy of the note straight into their vault, with images and attachments still linked to the shared copies. Encrypted notes stay encrypted.
This is off by default, because the Markdown source reveals things the rendered page hides, such as frontmatter, %% comments %% and the queries behind Dataview results. You can turn it on or off for a single note with the share_source property. Full details: https://docs.note.sx/notes/importing-shared-notes
Thanks to @jvsteiner for the original request and proof of concept, and to @huyz for the idea of shipping the Markdown with the page (#133).
Requires Obsidian 1.13 or newer.
Fixes
- YouTube videos play again on shared pages. A recent Obsidian update routed embedded videos through an address that only works inside the app. #193, thanks @TangentFoxy.
- No more empty "Properties" box above embedded notes. Notes that embed other notes with properties showed a blank properties block for each one. #213, thanks @TangentFoxy for the demo vault.
- Themes and snippets that use newer CSS now share correctly. The plugin used to minify your theme before uploading it, and the minifier didn't understand newer CSS features such as nested rules. It silently dropped them, and for some themes crashed with "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '0')". The CSS is now uploaded exactly as Obsidian renders it. If styles from your theme have been missing on your shared notes, run "Force re-upload of all data for this note" after updating. #199, thanks @tierradecristal-prog. Removing the minifier also makes the plugin about a third of its previous download size.
- Sharing no longer fails when another plugin loads a stylesheet from the web. The error was "Failed to read the 'cssRules' property from 'CSSStyleSheet'". That stylesheet is now skipped and the share carries on. #166, thanks @chenyuz3.
- Code Styler's language icons upload correctly. Sharing a note with Code Styler's header icons failed with "Unsupported media type". #92, thanks @AliQ80 and @kinboyw.
- Your first share will ask which style of share link you prefer by default, as I suspect many users would prefer short-URLs if they knew the option was there.
