v1.0.0 — Knowledge Inbox Zero
Inbox zero, for your reading list. Paste the links you keep meaning to read and get back the small subset that actually deserves your attention, and why.
Knowledge Inbox Zero optimizes for attention saved, not content stored. It is not a bookmark manager, a read-it-later app, or an RSS reader. Every document is judged by its Marginal Knowledge Value — the additional value it gives you, given what you already know, what you're researching, and what you've already processed — and gets one recommendation (READ / SKIM / SKIP), an MKV score, advisory tags, and a written explanation.

What's in v1.0.0
- Knowledge profile — interests, what you're researching, what you already know, and content types to avoid. Can be drafted from your own bio/CV instead of a long form.
- Paste-URL import — up to 500 URLs per batch, canonicalized and de-duplicated; the request returns in seconds.
- Asynchronous analysis — each URL is fetched best-effort and run through the pipeline on a worker; a broken link never fails the batch.
- MKV scoring + recommendation — deterministic relevance / novelty / redundancy / freshness, a single READ/SKIM/SKIP state, advisory tags (REDUNDANT, OUTDATED, REFERENCE, FRESH), and a written explanation.
- Library — documents grouped by recommendation with per-state counts and attention saved as the headline metric.
- Per-user privacy — every read and write is scoped to the signed-in user.
Integrations
- MCP server (
mcp-server/) — a stdio server exposing three tools (submit_urls,list_recommendations,explain_document) as a thin client of the deployed API, so any MCP-capable agent can triage your links. - Kiro Power (
power/) — packages the MCP server plus a usage skill so any agent can connect to a hosted instance without cloning the repo. - Browser extension (
browser-extension/) — optional Manifest V3 extension to save the current tab in one click. Not deployed with the app.
Architecture
Serverless-first and deterministic-first on AWS: Lambda (Node 22, ARM64), API Gateway HTTP API v2, DynamoDB (PAY_PER_REQUEST), SQS + DLQ, S3, Amazon Bedrock, and a React + Vite PWA with Cognito auth, all provisioned with AWS CDK. Bedrock is invoked only for structured extraction and the written explanation; everything else (canonicalization, dedup, all MKV math) is pure deterministic code, property-tested with fast-check.
Built with Kiro
Developed spec-first with steering docs, agent hooks, property-based tests, a custom read-only review agent, and a custom MCP server. See docs/built-with-kiro.md.
Notes
- The MCP server is versioned independently and published to npm as
knowledge-inbox-zero-mcp-server(currently 1.0.1). - Known follow-up: react-router 6 → 7 is a major upgrade, deferred to a dedicated change.
