Highlights

  • Apps for Android: pyzed build --target android-arm64 (or android-x64) packs a project as an APK or an AAB signed with a release key, also from the Export dialog. Apps keep clear of the system bars, the camera cutout and the keyboard, and handle the back button.
  • An Agent panel like Zed's: one thread for every agent with reasoning, tool calls as lines or cards, editable messages with Restore Checkpoint and messages queued while the agent works.
  • A sturdier Pyzed Design: it asks about unsaved changes on close, explains failed exports, writes crashes to crash.log, runs untrusted projects in restricted mode and fixes uv's os error 448 on Windows.
  • Iced with the community's work: Pyzed now builds on its own fork of Iced 0.14 with 81 community pull requests.

  • ⚡️ Pyzed Design opens faster and tells how long it took in the Logs panel, and downloaded updates are read once before the restart so the new version opens sooner. PR #197 by @albakore.

Fixes

  • 🐛 uv no longer fails with os error 448 on recent Windows 11 builds: Pyzed moves uv's Pythons to a readable folder and remakes the project's .venv; the app bundle is lighter too. PR #195 by @albakore.
  • 🐛 A form run from the designer no longer fails with a flush error when it closes in the installed app. PR #196 by @albakore.
  • 🐛 Pyzed Design asks about unsaved changes when it closes, shows why an export failed and translates the texts that still showed in English. PR #199 by @albakore.
  • 🐛 Tab moves the focus in forms run from the designer. PR #200 by @albakore.

Upgrades

  • ⬆️ Iced comes from Pyzed's fork (0.14 with Pyzed's changes and 81 community pull requests, pinned by commit); vendor/ is gone. PR #193 by @albakore.

Pyzed Design (the designer as a standalone app, uv included, that updates itself):

  • Windows: pyzed-design-windows-x86_64-setup.exe (installs for your user, no admin needed)
  • macOS: pyzed-design-macos-arm64.dmg or pyzed-design-macos-x86_64.dmg
  • Linux: curl -fsSL https://albakore.github.io/pyzed/install.sh | sh

The pyzed-design-*.zip files are the portable builds the app updates from. SHA256SUMS lists every checksum.
