NewTube 1.10.4
Unofficial YouTube client for Android phones and tablets, built on SmartTube by @yuliskov.
What's new
- Text follows your phone's font and display size everywhere, not just in the feed. Settings → User interface → UI scale zooms on top of it; if you had raised it to read better, try a lower value (#3).
- Check for updates works (Settings → About), also from 1.10.2 and 1.10.3 (#4).

Android 7.0+. Installs over 1.10.x and keeps your account and settings. For update alerts, add this repo to Obtainium, or use Check for updates.
Known issues
- Some made-for-kids videos stop with "Unknown source error" (#5). We know why, and the fix is being tested on real phones before it ships.
- YouTube still refuses the odd video. Offline saving goes up to 1080p, without subtitles.

NewTube 1.10.3
Unofficial YouTube client for Android phones and tablets, built on SmartTube by @yuliskov.
What's new
- Settings keep their place. Ticking a box or picking an option no longer jumps to the top of the page, and going back returns you to where you were (#2).
- Dislike counts are opt-in. Return YouTube Dislike learns which videos you open, so it's off until you turn on Settings → Player → Dislike counts.
- Built on GitHub. These APKs were built by GitHub Actions from the
v1.10.3tag, and each has a build attestation. They're also about 20 MB smaller. - A SmartTube fix for older Android versions where no video would load.

- Send diagnostic log (Settings → About) shares the app's recent log as a text file, with passwords, tokens, cookies, e-mail and IP addresses removed. It does list the videos you opened, so check it before posting it publicly.
- Sign-in secrets and live-chat messages no longer go to the system log.

This entry only holds newtube.json, the file NewTube 1.10.3 and older read when they check for updates. It always points at the current release. To download NewTube, use the release marked Latest.

- SponsorBlock, DeArrow and Return YouTube Dislike; cast to SmartTube on your TV.
- Videos start sooner, and it copes better with flaky mobile networks.
