Install

Firefox

Download google-goto-url-fix-firefox-1.0.1.xpi. In Firefox, open
about:addons, click the gear menu, choose Install Add-on From File…, and
select the XPI. This file is signed by Mozilla and persists across restarts.

Safari on macOS

Download google-goto-url-fix-safari-app-1.0.1.zip, unzip it, move
Google Goto Url Fix.app into Applications, and open the app once. Then open
Safari → Settings → Extensions and enable Google Goto Url Fix. The app is
Developer ID-signed, notarized by Apple, and includes a stapled notarization ticket.

Chrome and Microsoft Edge

Download the corresponding Chrome or Edge ZIP and follow the developer-mode
instructions in INSTALL.md.

The ordinary Firefox and Safari ZIPs are unsigned source/reviewer packages, not
the recommended Firefox or Safari installers.

Changes

  • Adds signed Firefox and signed/notarized Safari releases for installation outside public app stores.
  • Adds repeatable Firefox and Safari signing commands.
  • Adds clear installation documentation and an MIT license.
  • Declares that the Firefox extension collects no data.
