First release of WakeMenu — a macOS menu bar Wake-on-LAN app.

Features

  • One-click Wake-on-LAN from the menu bar
  • Live on/off status (works even when the PC's firewall blocks ping)
  • Automatic IP discovery by MAC — DHCP-proof, you only enter a MAC
  • Network scanner with reverse-DNS / NetBIOS name resolution
  • Management window: scan, saved PCs, add / edit / remove / wake
  • Correct status on multi-homed Macs (ignores stale ARP entries)

Install

  1. Download WakeMenu.app.zip below and unzip.
  2. Move WakeMenu.app to /Applications.
  3. First launch: right-click → Open → Open (ad-hoc signed, not notarized), or run:
    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/WakeMenu.app

Requires macOS 13+. The Mac and target PC must be on the same LAN.
