Requirements

• Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
• No Java installation required — the JRE is bundled in all distributions

Option A — Installer (Recommended)

1. Run ChatServer-1.0.1-Setup.exe and follow the install wizard.
2. Run ChatClient-1.0.1-Setup.exe and follow the install wizard.
3. Launch Chat Server from the Start Menu first.
4. Launch one or more instances of Chat Client from the Start Menu.
5. Register an account on each client and start chatting.

To uninstall, use Add or Remove Programs in Windows Settings.

Option B — Portable (No Install)

1. Extract ChatServer.zip and ChatClient.zip to a folder of your choice.
2. Launch ChatServer\ChatServer.exe first.
3. Launch one or more instances of ChatClient\ChatClient.exe.
4. Register an account on each client and start chatting.

To uninstall, delete the extracted folders.

Note: Do not move individual files out of their extracted folders — the bundled JRE must stay alongside the executable.
