• 区分不同的图片问题。 项目外路径、文件不存在、访问权限、格式不支持、超时、图片过大、损坏无法解码及图片数量上限，都会提供对应说明。
• 失败和成功分别说明。 预览、导出失败使用明显的错误卡片。导出成功不会自动隐藏内容警告，避免将“文件保存成功”误认为“所有内容均已完整渲染”。成功自动修复的 Markdown 语法仍以普通提示呈现。
• Modern 内置中文黑体。 标题、正文、表格、代码注释和署名使用 Noto Sans SC；英文继续使用 Inter，代码使用 JetBrains Mono。字体按文档所需字符选择离线切片，全部切片约 4.3 MiB，无需在转换时下载字体。Classic、Minimal 保留原有字体设置。

转换不修改 Markdown 源文件。打印页眉页脚和内置字体未覆盖的字符仍使用系统字体。

What's changed

• Shared project images render correctly. Nested lessons can reference shared logos, images and SVG badges within the nearest Git project, including worktrees. Local references outside that boundary remain blocked. Standalone documents use their containing folder as the boundary.
• Visible rendering notices. Single-file and folder previews display a notification over the PDF for missing images, layout limitations and unresolved source diagnostics. View details opens the reasons and references; dismissing the notification keeps the details available below the preview.
• Actionable image failures. Notices distinguish blocked paths, missing files, permissions, unsupported formats, timeouts, oversized images, decoding failures and the image-count limit.
• Clear failure feedback. Preview and export failures show an error card. Saving a PDF does not dismiss content warnings: a successful save does not guarantee every resource rendered. Successfully repaired Markdown syntax remains informational.
• Bundled Chinese sans-serif for Modern. Noto Sans SC covers document headings, body text, tables, code annotations and signatures. Inter remains first for Latin text, and JetBrains Mono for code. The offline font subsets total about 4.3 MiB; only the subsets needed by each document are embedded. Classic and Minimal retain their font choices.

Source Markdown files remain unchanged. Printed page headers/footers and characters outside the bundled repertoire still use system fonts.

What's changed

• Modern is now the default PDF theme for new profiles, missing/invalid theme preferences and layout resets. Existing Classic and Minimal choices are preserved. All three themes remain available.
• A new handout layout, with bundled Inter and JetBrains Mono Latin fonts, six heading levels, yellow quotations, red inline code, tables, images and captions. Chinese text uses system font fallbacks.
• Modern code cards show language labels and number blocks of five or more lines. Add numbers or nonumbers after the fence language to override this behavior. Classic and Minimal retain their original code rendering.
• Five Markdown callouts: > [!NOTE], TIP, IMPORTANT, WARNING and CAUTION, with English and Chinese labels across all themes.
• Preview progress shows actual reading, layout, PDF generation and page-display stages, including rendered page counts. It is workflow progress, not a time estimate.
• Clear export confirmation: a dismissible message floats over the PDF after a successful save, while the saved path stays available. Cancelled or failed saves never report success; fully successful batches also show confirmation.
• Reusable quality checks cover the supported Markdown/HTML feature set across themes and languages, with PDF text/resource checks, page images, grayscale views and baseline text contrast checks. Visual review remains necessary.

Source Markdown files remain unchanged. Modern, Classic and Minimal are retained; obsolete theme-review artifacts have been removed.

What's changed

• Classic is the default PDF theme again. Classic and Minimal remain available; Folio has been withdrawn. Saved Folio preferences fall back to Classic while other settings are preserved. Existing Minimal selections stay unchanged.
• Authored headings and numbers are preserved. Themes no longer add chapter numbers that could duplicate existing numbering. The heading-numbering experiments remain on the roadmap and are not available in this release.
• Single-click a search result to preview. Files open PDF previews and folders open batch previews. Enter and Escape remain supported, including cancellation while loading a preview.
• Keep multiline headings together. A complete heading stays on one page when it fits. Keeping the following text with it remains a separate layout setting.

Original Markdown files stay unchanged. Future design work will focus on Classic; any new themes should build on it.

• Folio is the new default PDF theme, alongside Classic and Minimal. Existing saved theme choices are preserved. The old Dark PDF theme has been removed.
• Light, Dark and System app appearance, available in General, saved automatically and independent of PDF styling.

• 远程图片与更新检查需要联网。首次搜索索引需要时间；复杂表格、公式或 HTML/CSS 请先检查预览。

The first public stable release of Inkleaf: a free Windows desktop tool for Markdown lovers. Find a file, preview the actual PDF, and save it locally.

Download and start

Download Inkleaf-Setup-0.4.10.exe below. The installer is for Windows x64 and includes its runtime; Node.js and Python are not required. Press Ctrl + Shift + Space, search for a Markdown file, press Enter to preview, then choose Export PDF. Settings and Quit are available from the system tray icon.

This build is unsigned. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or reputation warning. Use the installer from this repository's Release.

Included

• English and Chinese UI, a global shortcut and system tray controls.
• Filename/path search for Markdown files and folders containing Markdown.
• Actual PDF preview, batch conversion, configurable output folders and preserved subfolders.
• Math, tables, heading levels, code blocks, aligned images and badges, tasks, linked contents and footnotes.
• Three PDF themes, paper size, typography, margins, author information and page numbers.
• In-app stable updates: choose when to download, then restart and install when ready.

Known limitations

• Manual search-bar resizing still has issues; symmetric resizing on both axes is not implemented.
• The Layout sample preview is small. Settings save immediately, without an Apply button; changes to author information need clearer feedback.
• PDF styling and search remain under refinement. Code syntax highlighting, Mermaid/PlantUML, full-text search, pinyin and typo correction are not implemented.
• Remote images and update checks need a connection. Initial indexing takes time; review complex tables, formulas and HTML/CSS before exporting.

Conversion does not rewrite the Markdown source. See format support and the roadmap.

For updates: .exe.blockmap and latest.yml are companion files for the updater. Users installing manually only need the .exe. The app does not install updates merely because it was closed.
