Ultracraft 1.0.4

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 18:22

Install: the easiest way is a modpack below (Ultracraft.mrpack for the Modrinth App, Ultracraft-CurseForge.zip for the CurseForge App). Or put ultracraft-1.0.4+1.21.11.jar and Fabric API in your mods folder. Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

Changes

  • Bosses turn on every V1. A boss goes after whoever hurts it most and is close, switches targets now and then, and leaves a downed player alone. Players who aren't the target still see its health bar.
  • See your teammates. Every other player's name, health and distance show over ULTRAKILL's view, and at the edge of the screen when they're out of sight. You can turn this off in the settings.
  • Revive by standing near. A downed teammate's spot is marked with green light. Stand there for 4 seconds (2 with two people) to bring them back. While you're down, the camera orbits a teammate; click to switch between them.
  • Co-op Cyber Grind. Press Join on any shop's Cyber Grind page, or use /uc grind join. Each extra V1 makes the waves bigger. If you go down, a teammate can revive you, or you get back up when the wave is cleared. If everyone goes down, the run ends and nobody dies. /uc grind leave takes you out, and if the player who started the run leaves, the next player takes it over.
  • Duels. /uc duel <player> challenges another V1 to a fight.
  • Giving P. /uc p give <player> <amount> sends some of your P to another player.
  • A weaker start. Weapons start at 40% Power, and V1 deals less damage to Minecraft mobs. A zombie or spider now takes two headshots at the start. Fully upgraded weapons still kill in one.
  • Fire hurts V1 less. Standing in fire, lava or on magma does about a third of the damage it used to.
  • ULTRAKILL's fire on burning mobs, instead of Minecraft's flames covering your view.
  • A smoother hand swing when mining or punching with Minecraft hands.
  • Multiplayer fixes. Commands that give P, weapons, upgrades or bosses only work for the host and operators. Guests can't stop someone else's run or send away someone else's boss. /uc settings opens on the player who typed it. A player who quit while down comes back normally.
  • Known issues: a boss chasing another player doesn't hurt them yet, and duel hits may not register. Both will be fixed in the next update.

Ultracraft 1.0.3

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 16:31

Install: the easiest way is a modpack below (Ultracraft.mrpack for the Modrinth App, Ultracraft-CurseForge.zip for the CurseForge App). Or put ultracraft-1.0.3+1.21.11.jar and Fabric API in your mods folder. Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

Changes

  • The Cyber Grind is random now. Each run starts in a random arena and goes through all 50 in a new order before any comes twice. Each visit rolls its own take on the arena: pillars, platforms, raised squares, the shop's spot and the sky. /uc grind start starts a run on your own.
  • Grind enemies don't get stuck any more. They only spawn on the arena floor (not on walls, pillars, platforms or raised squares), with room round them, and one stranded on a ledge gets down to you.
  • HUD text and guns no longer break up far from where you started. Far from where you first became V1 (the Grind's arenas, a long teleport, another dimension), ULTRAKILL's text jittered and lost letters and the guns smeared. ULTRAKILL's world now moves along with you.

v1.0.2

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 13:03

Install: the easiest way is a modpack below (Ultracraft.mrpack for the Modrinth App, Ultracraft-CurseForge.zip for the CurseForge App). Or put ultracraft-1.0.2+1.21.11.jar and Fabric API in your mods folder. Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

Changes

  • Asks before setting ULTRAKILL up. The first time, a screen on the title screen asks before Ultracraft adds BepInEx 5 and its UltraBridge plugin to ULTRAKILL's folder. After a yes, it keeps the plugin up to date by itself.
  • Builds always include BepInEx (an earlier build could have gone without it).

v1.0.1

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 12:50

Easier install

You no longer install anything into ULTRAKILL yourself. When Minecraft starts, Ultracraft finds ULTRAKILL through Steam and sets it up:

  • it adds BepInEx 5 if ULTRAKILL doesn't have it yet (an existing BepInEx and its other mods are left alone);
  • it installs the UltraBridge plugin, and updates it with every new version of the mod;
  • a toast on the title screen says what it did.

Easiest: the modpacks (have Steam running):

  • Modrinth App: download Ultracraft.mrpack, then Add an instance → Import from file. It includes Ultracraft, Fabric API, Sodium and Essential.
  • CurseForge App: download Ultracraft-CurseForge.zip, then Create Custom Profile → Import. Same mods, plus Essential Tweaks, which unbinds Essential's keys so they don't clash with ULTRAKILL's.

Or by hand: install Fabric Loader for 1.21.11, then put Fabric API and ultracraft-1.0.1+1.21.11.jar in your mods folder (remove the old ultracraft- jar). That's all.

ULTRAKILL installed somewhere unusual? Set ultrakillDir in config/ultracraft.properties. Ultracraft.zip still has UltraBridge.dll for installing by hand (see the README).

Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

v1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 12:41

Install: download Ultracraft.zip below. Put UltraBridge.dll in ULTRAKILL/BepInEx/plugins/UltraBridge/ and ultracraft-1.0.0+1.21.11.jar in your Minecraft mods folder (remove the old ultracraft-0.1.x jar). Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

Fixes

  • The world no longer skews when you strafe. ULTRAKILL's camera leans as V1 moves sideways, and Minecraft's world and sky now lean with it. Before, the two images slid apart, enemies floated off the ground and the Cyber Grind's sky showed Minecraft's blue sky at the edges.
  • No more blood spraying out of thin air after bosses, explosion kills or Kill All Enemies. The extra blood from a death now follows the body and only spurts.
  • Jumping no longer breaks the block you land on. Only a ground pound (slam) does.
  • No more big coloured squares in front of the camera while a potion (such as night vision) is on V1.
  • Smoother on slower PCs: when ULTRAKILL can't keep up, Minecraft no longer redraws the same frame hundreds of times a second and steals the graphics card from it. This matters most with Minecraft's frame limit on Unlimited.
  • Bosses don't fall through the world when you run from them. The ground is kept under ULTRAKILL's enemies too, not just around V1. A boss that still drops out of the world comes back to where it stood.
  • Cyber Grind waves don't stall: enemies that die and vanish in the same moment (drones, Gabriel) now count toward the wave.

v0.1.12

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 11:54

Install: download Ultracraft.zip below. Put UltraBridge.dll in ULTRAKILL/BepInEx/plugins/UltraBridge/ and ultracraft-0.1.12+1.21.11.jar in your Minecraft mods folder (remove the old ultracraft-0.1.x jar). Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

More frame rate for lower-end PCs

New options in Ultracraft... → Performance:

  • Low-End PC Preset: one click sets everything below to its cheap option (480p, Effects Low, 1,500 blood stains, Extra Gore off, 64 blocks of terrain). Every option can still be changed afterwards, and Reset to Defaults undoes it.
  • Effects Quality (Low / Medium / High):
    • Medium uses ULTRAKILL's simpler explosions and fire, turns off environment particles and keeps less gore on screen.
    • Low also simplifies spawn effects and drops hit sparks and shadows.
    • This only applies while Ultracraft runs; your ULTRAKILL settings aren't changed.
  • Blood Stains: how many stay painted on blocks (Off, 500, 1,500, 4,096 or All).
  • Extra Gore: off leaves only ULTRAKILL's own blood on deaths, without Ultracraft's extra bursts.
  • Terrain Range: 64 or 96 blocks of terrain sent to ULTRAKILL instead of 128. At 64 blocks, ULTRAKILL handles about a third as much terrain, which is less work for both games.
  • 360p remains the biggest single win on the ULTRAKILL Resolution slider.

v0.1.11

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 11:41

Install: download Ultracraft.zip below. Put UltraBridge.dll in ULTRAKILL/BepInEx/plugins/UltraBridge/ and ultracraft-0.1.11+1.21.11.jar in your Minecraft mods folder (remove the old ultracraft-0.1.x jar). Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

Multiplayer

  • Held guns look right: other players' V1 holds each weapon as you see it in first person: grip in the hand, barrel where they aim, right way up.

ULTRAKILL enemies vs Minecraft mobs

  • Knockback: a swing, stomp, Virtue pillar or blast that would launch V1 launches a Minecraft mob just as far.
  • No fall damage for mobs ULTRAKILL's enemies knocked about, until they land.

Blood

  • No more blood hanging in the air after kills (crit kills most of all). The spray and the stains on the ground are unchanged.

Ultracraft v0.1.10

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 06 Oct 10:05

Install: download Ultracraft.zip below. Put UltraBridge.dll in ULTRAKILL/BepInEx/plugins/UltraBridge/ and ultracraft-0.1.10+1.21.11.jar in your Minecraft mods folder (remove the old ultracraft-0.1.x jar). Everyone in a multiplayer game needs this version.

Multiplayer, much better

  • See each other's guns: other players' V1 holds the weapon they have out, in its hand, arm raised and aimed where they look.
  • See and hear what they do: their beams, pellets, nails, saws, rockets, cannonballs, cores, coins and explosions show in your game with ULTRAKILL's own looks, along with their shots and other sounds. You also see and hear the enemies running in their game attack. The copies are harmless; the real hit happens in their game.
  • Animations: other V1s jump, land and slide when they really do (no more jump animation spamming in the air).
  • Invisible V1 fixed: a player who joined as Steve and then became V1 was invisible to the others.
  • As Steve you no longer see another player as both Steve and V1.
  • Bosses go after every V1 nearby. Die in a boss fight while a teammate fights on and you're only down: you watch them until the boss is beaten, then you're revived beside them in a burst of light. Only when everyone is down does the boss leave.

Also

  • Weapon wheel (hold Q): the mouse now picks the weapon and the camera holds still; it switches when you let go of Q.
  • Less stutter: when ULTRAKILL can't keep up with Minecraft's frame rate, Minecraft stops waiting for it for a few seconds instead of stuttering. New Frame Lock Step setting (Performance) to turn the waiting off.
  • No more "Worlds using Experimental Settings" warning (it came from the Cyber Grind arenas' dimension; nothing is experimental).

Ultracraft v0.1.9

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 05 Oct 21:50

Install: download Ultracraft.zip below. Put UltraBridge.dll in ULTRAKILL/BepInEx/plugins/UltraBridge/ and ultracraft-0.1.9+1.21.11.jar in your Minecraft mods folder (remove the old ultracraft-0.1.x jar). For Minecraft 1.21.11 with Fabric Loader 0.19 or later.

New: Cyber Grind arenas

  • Starting the Cyber Grind at a shop takes you (and the other V1s by it) into 50 big arenas, each after one of ULTRAKILL's levels or layers: 0-1 Into the Fire, 2-1 Bridgeburner, 7-3 No Sound, No Memory, P-2 Wait of the World and more. They're round, octagonal, crosses, rings, islands, the Grid, with pillars, walls, moats, terraces, floating platforms and roofs.
  • ULTRAKILL's own skies over each arena, matching its layer (taken from your ULTRAKILL install; only in that arena).
  • Every 5 waves the run moves on to the next arena; every 15th wave is a boss, harder the further you get.
  • The arenas live in their own dimension (your world is never touched) and can't be broken.
  • Leaving: each arena has a temporary shop near its edge, under a column of lights (the chat says which way). Leave on its Cyber Grind page takes everyone back to where they started. Falling off an arena puts you back on it.
  • /uc grind arena <1-50> jumps to any arena; /uc grind stop ends the run.
  • The Cyber Grind Arenas setting (Enemies & Bosses) turns it off: then the waves come round the shop, now over a bigger area.

Fixes

  • V2 now dies for real: it goes limp as a ragdoll instead of standing there.
  • Each world starts fresh: a new world no longer carries the last world's weapons, P or upgrades into ULTRAKILL.
  • Enemies get around the terrain better: walkable ground reaches further, enemies that fall off it are put back, and one stuck at a wall hops up to two blocks to get past it.
  • Less stuttering on block steps: V1 steps up onto a one-block rise when walking into it, instead of bumping against it.

Troubleshooting

Ultracraft v0.1.8

Choose a tag to compare

@alfr0762 alfr0762 released this 05 Oct 20:58

Install: download Ultracraft.zip below. Put UltraBridge.dll in ULTRAKILL/BepInEx/plugins/UltraBridge/ and ultracraft-0.1.8+1.21.11.jar in your Minecraft mods folder (remove the old ultracraft-0.1.x.jar). For Minecraft 1.21.11.

Fixes

  • Stuck on "ULTRAKILL connected - loading V1...": on an ULTRAKILL save that hadn't finished the tutorial, ULTRAKILL went to the Tutorial and V1 never came. It now goes on to V1 regardless (your save isn't changed). If it ever hangs again, the message names the ULTRAKILL level it's waiting in.
  • Whiplash: it now drags V1 to any mob about V1's size or bigger (zombies, skeletons, cows, villagers, golems...). Smaller ones (chickens, wolves, cats, babies...) are still reeled in.

New

  • A key for each weapon: Ultracraft... → ULTRAKILL Controls has a key for each of the 15 weapons (Piercer, Marksman, Sharpshooter, Core Eject... Firestarter). It switches straight to that weapon, and brings the guns back out if you're holding Minecraft items. Unbound until you set them (Esc unbinds). The Alternate versions share their colour's key.
  • ULTRAKILL Difficulty (ULTRAKILL Settings): Harmless to Brutal while playing Ultracraft. V1's health follows straight away; enemies that spawn afterwards use it. Your ULTRAKILL save and settings stay as they are.
  • Boss Difficulty (Enemies & Bosses): Auto (harder the more bosses you've beaten) or always EASY ... V1 MUST DIE.
  • Trait Chance (Enemies & Bosses): how often bosses bring traits like Radiant or Volatile, 0-100% (55% as before).
