Evidence First Agents v0.1.0 is the first tested release of a deterministic, provider-neutral readiness scanner for agent-enabled repositories.

Included

  • inventory of root AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, and GEMINI.md files
  • Agent Skills discovery, frontmatter checks, and local-reference validation
  • repository-local MCP discovery and transport normalization
  • detection of literal credential-like JSON fields without reporting their values
  • explicit capability and approval-boundary contracts
  • stable JSON and Markdown reports
  • READY, WARN, FAIL, and BLOCKED decisions with documented exit codes
  • safe, ambiguous, and intentionally unsafe demonstration fixtures
  • architecture, contract, security, and threat-model documentation

Verification

  • 33 focused tests
  • Ruff clean
  • Windows and Ubuntu CI on Python 3.11, 3.12, and 3.13
  • source distribution and wheel built in an isolated environment
  • wheel installed and exercised in a clean CI environment
  • additional local clean-install verification on Python 3.13 and 3.14

READY is intentionally narrow: it means the declared checks passed for the inspected files. It is not a claim of universal agent safety.
