RyTask's first tagged release — the MVP (milestones M0–M5) is implemented, tested, and running. RyTask is an open-source, self-hostable project-management & issue tracker for small, interrupt-driven teams, with three things most trackers make you pay for or bolt on:
- Native time-tracking + plan-vs-actual reporting — a honey meter lives right inside the task row and turns red when you go over your estimate. Free, built in.
- First-class Slack capture — drop a line in Slack and it becomes a task, parsing
@assignee ~estimate #labelas you type. - Full-control MCP server (49 tools, 100% parity) — anything a human can do in the UI, an AI agent can do over MCP.
What's in this release
- Identity, multi-tenancy & onboarding — organizations, workspaces, members, RBAC, first-run
/setupflow. - Core work loop — work items, projects, statuses, comments, saved views, search, notifications.
- Fast capture via Slack — two-way sync and the
@assignee ~estimate #labelgrammar. - First-party MCP server — HTTP + stdio transports, 49 tools, parity enforced in CI.
- Time-tracking & plan-vs-actual reporting — the flagship feature, with weekly reports.
- GitHub linking + full workspace export — link work items to GitHub and export your whole workspace.
