v1.4.0 had a problem: the installer was built from a stale snapshot and shipped without any of the features in its own release notes. A git tag and a branch shared the name "beta" and the release pipeline merged the wrong one. That failure mode is now impossible — the pipeline verifies merged content before anything gets built — and 1.4.1 is the release 1.4.0 was meant to be. If you already updated, this one arrives the same way.
Everything below actually ships this time. I checked by cracking open the published installer.
Four months, one wedding, one house move, and a pile of bug reports later: 1.4.0 is out. It's the biggest EveLens release so far, and most of it exists because you kept filing issues while I was away. Thank you.
한국어 — Korean support
Last Bin (@rnfmq1111a-boop) translated the entire interface. All 464 strings. Then he told me something I hadn't considered: fully translated item names made the app harder for Korean players, who know their ships by English names from the client and killboards. He was right. There's now a Game Names setting. Korean defaults to English item names, Chinese keeps translations, and you can override either way in Settings.
Attribute Optimizer
Remaps finally have a real home. Open it from the plan sidebar or right-click any skill. Two strategies: one remap for the whole plan, or remaps auto-placed where your plan shifts attribute focus, like old EVEMon did. You see where each remap goes and what to set your attributes to before anything touches your plan. There's an Omega/Alpha what-if toggle too.
@Kingdud asked for mid-plan remaps in #71. @msgerbs then pointed out that the right-click menu I told him to use did nothing at all. Fair. Both fixed.
Numbers you can check
New in the test code: an EVE Accuracy Suite. Golden scenarios where EveLens output has to match known in-game values: SP thresholds, training rates, implant math, remap rules, prerequisites. If a future change breaks the math, the build fails before you ever see it.
Auto-update, if you want it
@Spidah92 asked for this. EveLens already downloaded updates in the background; now it can install them when you close the app. It asks once, on first launch. Say no and it just notifies you like before. Change your mind anytime in Settings > Data.
Fixed
- Progress bars showed the same value for every level of a skill queued multiple times (@ChrisBaker97, #103)
- A dead SSO token for a biomassed character froze ALL ESI fetching, and the error could never be dismissed (@Spidah92, #94)
- Capital Jump Portal Generation asked for Jump Portal Generation V. The game wants III. SDE updated to build 3458726 (@KingInTheWoods, #99)
- Every planetary colony said "Unknown" for its planet name because the map data shipped with zero planets in it. All 68,407 are in now, and PI ISK/day estimates actually populate (@Fastburn, #66)
- Deleting a skill in the plan editor deleted the top one instead (@modolfog, #80)
- Importing a .txt file as a plan froze the app on Linux
- The Start Menu shortcut came back after every update, even if you'd deleted it (@Agge65)
Added
- Run at Startup, quietly to the tray. Windows and Linux (@Kickunio, @Agge65, #72)
- Drag-and-drop character reordering on the overview (@Kickunio, @mjedmazga)
- Hide Maxed filter in the skill browser (@Kingdud)
- What's New lives in the Help menu now
- Hover a remap marker in the queue to see the target attributes
Thanks
Every name above found a bug or shaped a feature that shipped in this release. That's the credit list. Last Bin gets the headline for the Korean translation — the About page says so now too.
