RTS AI Mac alpha — 11 October 2026
Mac alpha — 11 October 2026
The owner authorized publishing the exact locally accepted S07 candidate as a separate Mac prerelease. The existing Windows v0.4.0-alpha.2 assets and version remain unchanged.
Release tag: v0.4.0-macos-alpha.20261011. The package's internal version is s07-native; no binary was renamed internally or rebuilt for this publication.
Artifact: RTSAI-s07-native-macos.dmg, 258,421,906 bytes, SHA-256 8abe4af498ce6fbfc95b27cb7d4065f877ab57626cb3a79d8fdfa61e902f2199.
Requirements and limits: macOS 15 or later; universal Apple Silicon/Intel game binaries; bundled companion supports ARM64 Apple Silicon only. The app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. Another Mac/Gatekeeper and Intel execution remain pending. No local chat, ASR or TTS neural runtime/model is included, hosted requests remain disabled, and microphone conversations were not demonstrated.
Both standalone modes, rendered play, save/load, voice settings, explicit reviewed deploy and 38 assisted campaign cases per mode passed on the development Mac. These do not establish unaided human playthrough, competitive balance, other-device acceptance or fluent listening approval.
The game uses fixed engine aed51fe4b1c699b487b9f9683dbc79215f3a96be. Tested Mod/content inventory: b153198307187e65de2f5019ce44e5d840644e17984baaebcf9974f9dbdb5602. Subsequent source differences are helper-comment cleanup and this release note, with no packaged gameplay/runtime changes.
Seven accepted aliases retain project-audio provenance in mods/rtsai/standalone/audio/cue-alias-contract.json. Pending animal auditions stay outside the package; fluent review remains pending. The native isolation audit records a default app launch that touched normal OpenRA support files; those files were preserved and final acceptance was bound to an explicit private-support launch.
Install the DMG only after comparing its checksum. Copy RTS AI.app to Applications, attempt to open it, then use System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway if macOS blocks this unnotarized alpha. Test both Game modes, a bot skirmish, save/load, faction/English voice preference persistence and No AI manual play. On Intel, test the game without relying on the ARM64 companion. Record package hash, OS/CPU, mode/map/faction and reproduction steps for any failure. Fresh-device, real-network, human campaign/balance and listening checks remain acceptance work.
The seven aliases have full per-clip source/license/transform records in the packaged dedicated cue-alias contract and GPLv3 COPYING. Main PROVENANCE index normalization remains pending; pending animal auditions are absent from the packaged WAV set.
RTS AI 0.4.0-alpha.2 — Classic + RA2 Windows and web
RTS AI 0.4.0-alpha.2 — standalone Windows update
One Windows game with Classic / top-down and RA2 / isometric modes. No owned Red Alert or Red Alert 2 installation is required. The website also provides the live isometric browser game.
This update brings the consolidated shared native/browser engine and the latest campaign and Classic rendering corrections into the Windows download:
- Campaign victory now completes secondary protection objectives before the last primary objective awards the win.
- All six campaigns in both modes expose Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty.
- Classic fog and shroud use project-made square-grid artwork.
- 16 country choices, including seven authored modern faction packs; native bots and optional local AI companion.
The EXE installer is per-user; a portable ZIP is also available. Select No AI for the first gameplay test. Local AI requires optional model downloads and appropriate hardware. This alpha is unsigned, with SHA-256 checksums published for every artifact. No macOS package is included; that follows on the owner's Mac.
Source acceptance includes 228 assisted campaign-condition runs and 160 roster matches. These do not replace human campaign playthroughs or competitive balance acceptance. Broader clean-OS, real camera/microphone, separate-device/network and Safari acceptance remain open. Classic uses the modern army on a rectangular grid; full historical Classic parity remains on the roadmap.
Build input: canonical product main d1b3c36d144763175ad641a3c7379ea8dd9d3646; shared engine aed51fe4b1c699b487b9f9683dbc79215f3a96be. Release documentation and the version-aware installer acceptance helper are committed alongside this release. Previous releases and preserved custom resources remain available.

RTS AI 0.4.0-alpha.1 — Windows standalone
RTS AI 0.4.0-alpha.1 — Windows testing release
One standalone game with an in-game Game modes chooser: Classic and Isometric. No owned Red Alert or Red Alert 2 installation is required.
- 16 country choices, including seven authored modern faction packs.
- Six campaign maps with native objectives, civilian convoy orders, enemy waves and difficulty.
- Windows per-user EXE installer and portable ZIP. The local companion and inference runtimes are bundled; models are optional downloads. Choose No AI for the first gameplay test, or Full local AI to download the optional model pack.
- Classic currently uses the shared modern army on a rectangular grid. It does not yet reproduce every feature or map of the historical Classic fork.
Test the release
- Download the Windows installer from https://rtsai.net/download and run it. This alpha is unsigned; the download page lists its SHA-256.
- Choose No AI for a quick install. Launch RTS AI from the Start menu.
- Open Game modes, choose a mode, then start a skirmish or campaign.
- Repeat in the other mode. Settings, replays and maps are kept in the game's support directory.
The portable ZIP is an alternative: extract the complete folder and launch RTSAI.exe.
This is a Windows development prerelease. Full historical Classic migration, all campaign outcomes, broader hardware/network acceptance and complete browser/native parity remain open. macOS for this version follows on the owner's Mac. The older release remains available in release history.
Build verification: zero native compiler warnings/errors, strict standalone checks, audio provenance, preserved-resource hashes, packaged mode-switch/render check and portable payload checksums. The release includes SHA256SUMS.txt and per-file checksums. Engine pin: 68c1e955578d804921f4907753af932fa7ed0e14.
RTS AI 0.3.0-alpha.1
The first standalone RTS AI download. Unsigned alpha.
What's in it
- Seven real-world factions: China, Iran, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Israel and Hezbollah, each with its own units, doctrine and bot.
- Its own art, sound and maps (Twin Fords and Harbor Line). Nothing else to install: no other game is needed.
- Skirmishes against the built-in bots.
AI co-commander: not in this build. The hosted co-commander needs an online service that is not switched on yet, and the local co-commander has not passed its test for this release, so neither is included. The game says so under Settings > AI. The skirmish bots are not affected.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
RTSAI-0.3.0-alpha.1-win-x64-setup.exe(129.1 MB): installs for your user, no administrator rights. Uninstall from Settings > Apps.RTSAI-0.3.0-alpha.1-win-x64-portable.zip(163.6 MB): unzip anywhere and runRTSAI.exe.
These files are not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway. Check the file first: in PowerShell, Get-FileHash .\RTSAI-0.3.0-alpha.1-win-x64-setup.exe must match the SHA-256 below (also in SHA256SUMS.txt and the .sha256 files).
macOS, Apple silicon and Intel
RTSAI-0.3.0-alpha.1-macos.dmg(209.5 MB): open it and drag RTS AI to Applications.
The Mac app is not notarized (ad-hoc signed), so macOS says it cannot check it the first time. On macOS 15 or later: open it once, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. On macOS 14 and earlier: right-click the app and choose Open. Check the file first: shasum -a 256 RTSAI-0.3.0-alpha.1-macos.dmg.
The Mac build passed automated checks on GitHub's Apple silicon and Intel Macs (the game starts and plays a bot match without a window), but nobody has played it on a real Mac yet. It is made for macOS 15 or later.
