v0.2.0
Highlights
- Live view on PCs without hardware H.265 decoding. Chromium can only play the telescope's H.265 stream through a hardware decoder, so on PCs without one the picture never appeared even though everything else worked (#1). The app now falls back to a built-in WebAssembly decoder (libde265), with a one-time notice and a small Software H.265 badge. It needs roughly one CPU core per 1080p stream and drops to keyframes only if the CPU can't keep up.
- Astro auto-focus no longer kills the tele stream by accident. On firmware 1.5.x the star-based astro AF stops the tele stream for good when it finds no stars (e.g. in daylight), and only a reboot brings it back. The AF button now always runs the regular auto-focus; Astro AF lives in the Astro panel behind a confirmation. If the stream does die, the banner explains why and offers a one-click telescope reboot.
Other changes
- jmuxer 2.1.3 (its HEVC codec-string fix is upstream now; the local patch is gone)
- Toolbar panels no longer open with their buttons disabled for up to 30 s
- Build: node-gyp 12 override, electron-builder 26 and Node 22 in CI so Windows builds work with Visual Studio 2026
Notes
- Binaries are unsigned; the README explains how to run them on each OS.
- The software decoder is libde265 (LGPL-3.0), shipped as a separate
.wasmfile.
