Amgi 0.5.0
- Clicking a card no longer shows its answer. Use Show Answer or Space, then rate with the four buttons or 1–4, so a stray click or a text selection can't give the answer away.
amgi prunefinds media no card uses. It lists the files inmedia/that no Markdown file in the collection links to;--trashmoves them to the Trash. See the CLI docs.- Updates are checked at amgi.study, which points to the latest release on GitHub.
- The docs moved to docs.amgi.study.

Decks now live in a cards folder, so the rest of a collection is free for a README or anything else, which makes a collection easy to publish as it is.

note-types/
- Decks are read from
cards/, next tomedia/andnote-types/. Deck names are the same as before:cards/lang/Korean.mdis thelang/Koreandeck. - Add Card and Anki imports write into
cards/, and their links to images and sounds go up one more folder, such as../media/word.mp3. - Moving an existing collection: move your deck files into a new
cardsfolder and change their media links frommedia/to../media/. Until then, Amgi warns that the decks outsidecards/are left out. Card ids come from card text, so review history carries over.

Amgi 0.3.0
Notes with fields: a word, its meaning, its audio, an example sentence, each a field of its own, making as many cards as you like.
- Note types. A file in a
note-typesfolder lists a note's fields and the cards it makes, such as"Word, Audio -> Meaning, Sentence"and"Meaning -> Word". A note starts with@and its type's name, thenField: valuelines, and notes of any type sit besideQ:andC:cards in the same deck. See Notes with fields. - Typed answers. A rule written with
=>, such as"Meaning => Word", asks you to type the answer, then shows what you typed against it, with wrong letters struck out and missing ones marked. - Anki import keeps fields. Note types with more than two fields, such as vocabulary decks, come in as notes with their fields and a note type for each, instead of flattened question and answer text. Anki typing boxes become typed answers, and a word's audio stays beside the word. Each Anki deck is one file, whatever note types its notes have.
- Add Card offers your note types next to Basic and Cloze, with a box for each field and a count of the cards the note makes. Drop an image or sound onto a field to copy it into the
mediafolder. - Browsing shows the selected card's note fields under it, and searches take field filters such as
meaning:apple. Plain words also match fields no card shows.
Card ids don't change: cards you already have keep their history. A card from a note is identified by its front, like a Q: card with the same question. To bring an Anki deck in with its fields, import it again into a folder without the earlier import's files.

Amgi 0.2.2
Fixes Amgi quitting right after it opens.
- Releases downloaded from GitHub couldn't find their own built-in files (the review panes, emoji and welcome artwork) and quit at launch. They now open on every Mac.
- 0.2.1 quit before it could check for updates, so download this version by hand once; later versions arrive in the app through Amgi ▸ Check for Updates….

Amgi 0.2.0
A much smaller download: 6 MB, down from 32 MB.
- Chinese, Japanese and Korean fonts (Source Han Serif) are no longer in the app. They download the first time your decks use Hangul, kana or Han characters, about 6 MB per language, and work offline from then on. Until then the Mac's own serif stands in.
- Decks with only Han characters, on a Mac without a Chinese, Japanese or Korean language, now show Simplified Chinese character forms instead of Korean ones. Japanese decks on such a Mac show kanji in Japanese forms.
