Allay Server is the backend behind Allay, the AI helper for Minecraft players. The plugin sends each question here, and the server's agent answers it: it reads the player's game through tools the plugin runs, searches the web, computes exactly, and remembers each player. You can use the hosted backend at https://allay.chat or run your own with Docker.

For server owners

  1. Self-hosting with Docker: run your own backend in five steps.
  2. Environment variables: the few values the backend needs to start.
  3. Admin panel and settings: the first account, roles, and every setting.
  4. Who pays for the model: your own key, a subscription, or a self-hosted backend.
  5. What Allay can do: the tools, automation agents, buttons, and public questions.
  6. Memory and traces: what the backend keeps about players, and for how long.
  7. Security and privacy: who may call the backend, how servers stay apart, a player's copy and erasure, and moving to a hosted backend.
  8. Troubleshooting: error codes and common mistakes.

For developers

  1. HTTP API: the v1 and v2 endpoints with examples.
  2. Architecture: how a question flows through the code.
  3. Building from source: run, test, and build the image.
  4. Releasing: how a version reaches the registry and servers.
  5. Development: the stack, tests, and AI participation.
