Firmware 0.5.0, Windows app 0.8.0, WordPress plugin 0.2.0 (unchanged)

Firmware 0.5.0 needs the Windows app 0.8.0. Install the app first, then update the cube from the app.

What's new

Firmware

  • The cube now only shows images sent by the app. The built-in Claude designs, their fonts and the /api/usage endpoint are gone, the firmware is 26 KB smaller.
  • Without images for three minutes the cube shows NO CARRIER with the time, the time of the last image and its IP address. The last known numbers are no longer shown, because they could be badly out of date.
  • New endpoint POST /api/nocarrier. The app uses it to switch the cube to NO CARRIER right away.
  • Password and settings survive the update.

Windows app

  • Update the cube firmware from the Cubes page. The firmware ships with the app, no download needed.
  • Optional update check against this release page, for the app and the firmware. The installed app can update itself after a SHA-256 check. Off by default.
  • Cubes switch to NO CARRIER as soon as the app quits, Windows shuts down or signs out, or the PC goes to sleep.
  • Optional rotation between two functions on one cube, every 10 to 120 seconds.
  • Optional Windows notification when the session or weekly limit reaches a chosen threshold, once per period.
  • The settings are backed up to config.bak.json on every save and restored if config.json is broken.
  • Clearer hint for Shopify when a scope is missing: reinstall the app in your store after adding scopes.
  • Four more styles for the shop big display: Klassik, Columns, Phosphor and ANSI.

Upgrading from 0.7.0

  1. Install sysoptv-app-0.8.0-setup.exe. Your settings stay.
  2. On the Cubes page click "Update firmware". Enter the cube's admin password if asked.
  3. If you used the old PowerShell sender: it no longer works with firmware 0.5.0, the app replaces it.

Windows may warn about an unknown publisher because the app is not code signed. Check the files against SHA256SUMS.txt if you like.
