Three additions since v0.1.0-alpha.1. Still an alpha, for Claude Code on macOS and Linux.

What's new

rashomon report --timeline lists every call in a session, subagents included, in recorded order (text stops at 500 rows; --json has all). Failed calls are kept apart from calls that never ran. Where the record can tell, each failure says whether a later success of the same command line (in any directory), or of the same program for single-purpose programs, was recorded. For git, go, npm and other multi-command programs, and for Read or Edit, only the same command counts, so a fix made another way is missed.

Test-bending and flaky runs. The end-of-turn line now flags a test command that failed, then passed when the only recorded edits between were to files named like tests, and one with both outcomes and no recorded file edit between. Both runs need the same command line and starting directory. The report gains a test runs block. A test run is a recognised runner (go test, pytest, npm test and others) with nothing piped or chained after it, so piped runs like go test ./... 2>&1 | tail -20, much of what Claude Code writes, are missed.

rashomon spend [--days N] [--json] estimates what the last N days (default 30) of Claude Code usage would cost at API list prices, from Claude Code's transcripts, by main session and subagents, model, token kind and session. It also shows spend in turns where a recorded call failed and the final message used none of rashomon's failure words; only that figure needs rashomon's records. Not a bill: the rates are a 2026-09-30 snapshot, and Pro and Max plans are not billed per token.

Fixed: watch, pause, resume, status and version refuse an argument they do not know, as the other commands already did, so watch --help no longer installs the hooks and pause --help no longer pauses recording.

Also: a Discord link in the README.

Install / upgrade

Pick one; using both records everything twice.

Plugin (then start a new session):

claude plugin marketplace add altrace-dev-role/rashomon
claude plugin install rashomon@rashomon
claude plugin enable rashomon@rashomon

Installer:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/altrace-dev-role/rashomon/main/install.sh | sh
rashomon watch

Go (then rashomon watch):

go install github.com/altrace-dev-role/rashomon/cmd/rashomon@latest

Already using the plugin: run claude plugin marketplace update rashomon, then claude plugin update rashomon@rashomon, and start a new session. Re-running the installer or go install replaces the binary at the same path, so watch needs no re-run. Records from alpha.1 still read; test runs count only calls recorded after the upgrade.

Known limits

  • Windows is not usable yet. Windows binaries are published, but no install path has been shown to work there.
  • spend's approximations. The silent-failure figure is a floor and covers only sessions rashomon recorded; other spend is marked not covered, never zero. The cache re-write figure is a labelled heuristic. Pre-output refusals and earlier retry attempts show tokens at unknown cost, outside the total. Out of scope: fast-mode and long-context premiums, Batch, Bedrock and Vertex pricing, and web-search fees. Follow-ups: #40.
