Release 1.1.1
Release Notes - v1.1.1
Power Management Improvements
Dual Wake Lock System
- Separated wake lock functionality into two distinct locks for better power efficiency:
- CPU Wake Lock (
PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK): Keeps CPU running for background services (MQTT, sensors, camera). Held continuously while service is active. - Screen Wake Lock (
FULL_WAKE_LOCK): Temporarily wakes screen only during explicit wake commands. Released automatically after timeout.
- CPU Wake Lock (
- Previous implementation used a single 3-second timed
FULL_WAKE_LOCKfor all operations, causing unnecessary screen wake-ups - New approach reduces battery drain by only waking the screen when explicitly needed via MQTT/HTTP wake commands
Technical Details:
- CPU wake lock acquired indefinitely (no timeout) during service lifecycle
- Screen wake lock acquired with specified timeout only for wake commands
- Proper cleanup ensures locks are released when service stops or the wake period expires
- Fixes race conditions where the wake lock was released too early
Stability Fixes
SSL Dialogue Crash Prevention
- Fixed
UninitializedPropertyAccessExceptionwhen SSL certificate errors occur before dependency injection completes - Added
::dialogUtils.isInitializedcheck to safely verify ifDialogUtilshas been injected by Dagger - Prevents app crashes on early SSL errors during startup or network transitions
- If the dialogue utility isn't ready, SSL errors proceed automatically (matching existing fallback behaviour)
Documentation Updates
MQTT Configuration Clarification
- Updated base topic documentation from
wallpanel/mywallpaneltowallpanel/mywallpanel/(trailing slash) - Ensures consistency with the actual topic structure used in the application
- Minor whitespace cleanup in sensor configuration examples
Impact
- Battery Life: Reduced unnecessary screen wake-ups improves battery performance
- Stability: Eliminates crash scenario during SSL certificate validation
- Background Services: MQTT, sensors, and camera operations remain responsive without keeping the screen on
