Live wallpapers come to the macOS 27 Lock Screen

Wallper 1.9.0 brings animated wallpapers back to the Lock Screen on the latest macOS, sets them for you automatically, and smooths out the interface.

Lock Screen

  • Live Lock Screen wallpapers on macOS 27. Apple changed how custom animated wallpapers are installed in macOS 27, which broke live Lock Screen playback. Wallper now speaks the new format — your animated wallpapers show up on the Lock Screen and Screen Saver again.
  • Auto-apply. Choosing a wallpaper sets it on the Lock Screen instantly — no digging through System Settings — and Wallper keeps it in place even when macOS tries to reset the selection.
  • No password, no background services. Everything runs in your own user space: no admin prompt and no privileged helpers.

  • Fixed a jittery toolbar animation where the back button could endlessly re-animate.
  • Cut a burst of unnecessary redraws — fewer UI re-renders and a little easier on the battery.
