A spatial workspace for thinking and working — directly on your Mac desktop.
Floatspace turns your desktop into a persistent visual space where you can capture thoughts, collect information, develop ideas, and keep projects in context.
Instead of moving between notes, messengers, whiteboards, and documents, Floatspace lets information live directly in your workspace.

Floatspace is currently distributed as a test / early public version and is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate.
Because of this, macOS Gatekeeper may show a warning when you try to open the application, such as:
“Apple cannot check it for malicious software.”
or prevent the application from opening normally.
This does not necessarily mean that the application is damaged or malicious. It means that the current build has not yet gone through Apple's standard Developer ID signing and notarization process.
We are currently distributing Floatspace directly for early testing and feedback.
Only run the application if you downloaded it from the official Floatspace repository or release source and trust the build.
Once the project moves to a signed and notarized distribution, these warnings should no longer appear for normal installations.
Most information is still organized linearly: documents, folders, lists, and pages.
But thinking rarely works that way.
A thought can start as a link, a phone number, a reference, a question, a sketch, or a random idea — and later become part of something much larger.
Floatspace gives those thoughts a physical place.
Cards can be freely positioned, resized, grouped, and arranged into visual structures. Different Spaces let you keep separate contexts for work, personal life, research, projects, or anything else.
Floatspace sits somewhere between:

but is designed around one idea:
Your desktop should be a place where your thoughts live.

MVP — first public version
The current version is a usable MVP intended for early distribution, testing, and feedback.
The core spatial workspace, cards, Spaces, desktop integration, onboarding, and native macOS interactions are already implemented.
Floatspace is still actively evolving, and the interface and interaction model may change as the product is tested with real users.
