Research

Some of this work lives in private repos (registry data agreements, unpublished analyses).

  • Post-transplant malignancy in heart transplant recipients — Python analysis pipeline on the SRTR national transplant registry: cancer incidence in adult heart-only recipients across transplant eras, with death as a competing risk. With Dr. Nandini Nair (clinical) and Dr. Dongping Du (statistical); follow-up to our JHLT 2023 abstract.
  • Torque-sensing suspension laryngoscopy — quantifying the force suspension laryngoscopy puts on a patient's teeth and tongue, and whether a torque sensor on the Lewy suspension arm can stand in for direct force measurement. Reproducible analysis pipeline behind our work: signal segmentation, per-view force statistics, torque-to-force regressions, Lewy vs. gallows suspension comparison. With Calabria DeFazio, Dr. Matthew Naunheim, Dr. Ramon Franco, and Dr. Phillip Song (MGH / Mass Eye & Ear).
  • wholebrain-crispr-explorer — do in-vivo CRISPR perturbations of ASD-risk genes in mouse cortex transcriptionally resemble the human ASD brain? Cross-species analysis scoring 99 ASD-risk perturbations from the Wholebrain CRISPR Atlas (7.7M nuclei) against the Velmeshev 2019 human snRNA-seq reference, with permutation nulls. Solo work inspired by an event at the OpenAI forum.
  • Laminar acetylcholine analysis — MATLAB analysis of laminar ACh dynamics, Hires Lab (USC), NEUR 490x Research Fall 2026.
  • flappy-hhi — deterministic Flappy Bird as a research harness for closed-loop EMG latency experiments; 87-test suite, live demo.
  • Cognitive dissonance in adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic — Journal of Emerging Investigators, 2024.

Also building

  • tether — an AI interview platform to record and share the stories of the elderly (summer 2026).
