about get data in local

some time i need to know if some data exists in local,but now i can't know.though 'once' can get data in local,but i can't know what time it would return or it would not return with data.
for example, in a chat app,i need to show some history chat records at the app start point. but at an early time,the "get('keyName').map().once()" would always have no data. it only return data after some seconds.

and another issue:i can't know how much data in local.for example,
gun.get('keyName').map().once(function(){});
in the callback function, i don't know what time the "ALL" local data is sent to me and no more data would sent to me by callback.

and,what the time point that i can be sure "no data in local" or "no more data in local" otherthan "waiting for some seconds"?

@mccoysc I'm not quite sure what you mean by grabbing local data.

I think I do understand what you mean by "how do I know when I've gotten to the end of the map/list?" there is a extension that makes this easy... @Dletta do we have anything more recent than https://github.com/gundb/valMapEnd (?) it is really old and IDK if it still works. Didn't somebody write a new one recently?
