SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.6
English
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.6: Europe 1984-85 career, the right seasons in the management record; Hungarian and Irish league
names; menu music with SWOS++
- Europe 1984-85 career: the MANAGEMENT RECORD showed the seasons of the 1996-97 game (the second season read 1997/98,
the third 1998/99). It now shows the career's own seasons: 1984/85, 1985/86, 1986/87 and so on. - Europe 1984-85 career, Hungary: the two divisions were both called NEMZETI BAJNOKSA (the real name, Nemzeti
Bajnoksag I and II, cut to 16 letters). They are now NB I and NB II, as they are called in Hungary. - Europe 1984-85 career, Republic of Ireland: the league is now L. OF IRELAND (it read LEAGUE OF IRELAN, cut in the
middle of a word). - Menu music with SWOS++ (Marco): the game starts the menu music only if MENU MUSIC is on when the title screen
loads; with SWOS++ the music could stay silent until the first match although the option read ON. Now the music also
starts when the main menu opens, if MENU MUSIC is on and nothing is playing (without SWOS++ nothing changes). Not yet
confirmed on the setup where it was seen: Marco, please tell us if the menu music now starts by itself. - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.3.5 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Only
the game executables change. Careers saved with an earlier version load as before.

Bajnoksag I e II, tagliato a 16 lettere). - Carriera Europa 1984-85, Eire: il campionato ora si chiama L. OF IRELAND (era LEAGUE OF IRELAN, tagliato a metà
parola).
su ON.
prima.

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.5: real match days in Italy 1947-48
- CLASSIC SEASONS > ITALY 1947-48 (21 clubs): every match day now has 10 matches and one club at rest, as in a real
round-robin with an odd number of clubs. The game's own fixture tables for an odd number of clubs are not true rounds:
on 15 of the 21 match days a club played twice while another one did not play at all (the season totals were right).
The mod now rewrites those tables (5 to 23 clubs) as real rounds: the same pairs, each club at rest once per cycle,
home and away games alternating (at most 3 in a row). Any future pack with an odd number of clubs gets the same. - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.3.4 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Only
the game executables change. A 1947-48 season saved with an earlier version: start a new one (the order of the
matches changes, so an old season would mix the two orders).

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.5: giornate vere nell'Italia 1947-48
- STAG.

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.4: shirt numbers as in the era (1 to 11 for the starters, 12 to 16 on the bench), numbers above
11 in the menus, purple and maroon together on the KITS screen
- Historic seasons and careers (Europe 1984-85, DDR 1988-89, Italy 1947-48, World Cup 1934): before fixed squad
numbers the starters wore 1 to 11 and the substitutes 12 to 16. The squads now follow it, keeping each player's
historic number where it fits (Franco Baresi the 6 at Milan); in the Europe 1984-85 world about 790 players wore
17 to 41 from the database's modern numbers. The game keeps the rule: the bench is numbered 12 to 16 and a
substitution swaps the two numbers. A 1984-85 career saved with an earlier version keeps its numbers (the bench
becomes 12 to 16 at the next match; a starter with a high number keeps it until he is swapped). - Numbers above 11 in the menus, for edited teams and modern squads: the bench menu in a match printed 20 and more
wrongly (23 as "1="), and the little players on the tactics pitch showed a wrong sprite for 12 and more. Both now
show 1 to 99. - Purple and maroon together on the KITS screen (and in Edit Teams), thanks to Marco: a maroon part of one kit (shorts or
socks of Fiorentina's second kit) turned the purple of the other kit maroon. Purple now has a colour of its own in
these screens. - Europe 1984-85 career, thanks to Daniele: with Volsungur (and about thirty other clubs whose players are all worth
the minimum, from Iceland, Norway, Greece, Romania, Luxembourg...) the game stopped on the team screen with a black
screen and yellow text (a division by zero on the squad's average price). Fixed for every team, edited ones
included. - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.3.3 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). The
game executables change, and the team files of the Europe 1984-85 world (DATA\TEAM.101 to TEAM.136 and
WORLD04.TMD, written whole by the patcher).

Ora
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.3
English
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.3: Europe 1984-85 careers: no more exit to DOS at the season end, real national-cup brackets;
SELECT KITS shows who controls a team
- Europe 1984-85 career: the game could quit to DOS at the end of a season with the message "data/team.254". At a
season end the game loads every club of the competitions the manager's club will play, and keeps at most 100 teams.
An English club in the FA Cup (64 clubs, many from the lower divisions) and in the UEFA Cup (64 clubs) needs about
125, and so can a West German, Norwegian or Greek club in its cup and the UEFA Cup. Careers in this world now keep up
to 160 teams. Saves: a new career is saved in the new format; an existing save loads as before, and if it already
holds more than 90 teams it moves to the bigger room when loaded and is saved in the new format from then on. 1996-97
careers, custom and preset competitions are unchanged. - Europe 1984-85 career: the national cups now follow the real 1984-85 brackets in the first season of a career (the
real first-round ties, then each round as it was drawn); the game drew them at random. Later seasons are drawn at
random as before. Their first round is now called FIRST ROUND (it was called SECOND ROUND). - SELECT KITS (the KITS button before a match): the box with the team name now has the colour of who controls the
team, as in the game's other menus: purple for a human player, red for the computer, blue for a coach. Thanks Marco! - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.3.2 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Only
the game executables change; from a version before 3.3.0 also drop DATA\TEAM.001, 002, 013, 035, 047, 055 and 071
(the original files of the purple clubs).

A fine
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.2
English
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.2: purple never against maroon, also with kits set by hand
- Kits chosen with the KITS button before a match could still put a purple team against a maroon one (Fiorentina in
purple, Torino set by hand to its maroon home kit): purple was then drawn maroon. Now a choice made by hand that puts
purple against maroon is corrected for that match: the maroon team takes its other kit (Torino in white); if that
kit has maroon too, for example maroon shorts or socks, those parts take the colour of its shirt; only if that is
not possible either does the purple team change kit. Any other choice, such as Torino in green after editing its
colours, is played as chosen. Thanks Marco! - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.3.1 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Only
the game executables change; from a version before 3.3.0 also drop DATA\TEAM.001, 002, 013, 035, 047, 055 and 071
(the original files of the purple clubs). Saves are not touched.

amaranto.
viola. Qualsiasi altra scelta, come il Torino in verde dopo averne modificato i colori, si gioca come scelta.
Thanks Marco!
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.1
English
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.1: purple kits, three fixes
- Line-ups screen: the stadium screen before kick-off still showed the purple teams (Fiorentina...) in maroon; in the
match they were already purple. The screen loads its palette twice and only the first copy got the purple: now both
do. - Automatic kit choice: purple and maroon cannot be on the pitch together (purple borrows maroon's place in the
palette), but the game only changes kits when they look alike as a whole, so Fiorentina met Barcelona (blue and
maroon stripes) in home kits and was drawn maroon. Now purple on one side and maroon on the other, in any part of
the kits (shirt, stripes, shorts, socks), count as a clash and one team gets its other kit. A kit set by hand with
the KITS button is left as chosen. - SELECT KITS (the KITS button before a match) now opens on the automatic choice instead of both first kits, so OK
or CANCEL without changes always gives kits that work together (before, OK on Torino-Fiorentina put both in maroon). - Thanks Marco!
- Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.3.0 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Only
the game executables change; from a version before 3.3.0 also drop DATA\TEAM.001, 002, 013, 035, 047, 055 and 071
(the original files of the purple clubs). Saves are not touched.

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.1: maglie viola, tre correzioni
squadre viola (Fiorentina...); in partita erano già viola.
MAGLIE restano come scelte.
metteva entrambe in amaranto). - Thanks Marco!
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.0
English
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.0: purple kits and dark-skinned blond players
- Purple: an 11th kit colour. The game had no purple and dressed its purple clubs in maroon: Fiorentina, Austria
Vienna, Anderlecht, Toulouse, Valladolid, Saprissa, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Defensor Sporting and Austria Salzburg (and
their versions in the mod's historic seasons and careers) now wear purple. In a match purple takes maroon's place in
the palette when nobody wears maroon; when a purple team meets a maroon one (Fiorentina-Roma, Fiorentina-Torino) the
game's own kit choice gives one of them its other kit. The kit editor (Edit Teams, the KITS button before a match)
offers purple after yellow. - Dark skin with blond hair: a fourth player look, in matches (a new set of player sprites for each team), in the
pre-match stadium screen and in the squad lists (its own face icon). Carlos Valderrama has it (Tampa Bay Mutiny 1997,
Montpellier in the 1988-89 European cups); the Edit Teams face button offers it after the dark face. Goalkeepers
with this look are drawn with dark hair. - Season packs: kit colour 10 = purple, skin
darkblond(packs/README.md). - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.2.7 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). New in
this release: also drop DATA\TEAM.001, 002, 013, 035, 047, 055 and 071 (the original files of the purple clubs).
Saves are not touched; careers already started keep the old colours for their clubs.

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.3.0: maglie viola e giocatori neri biondi
Fiorentina, Austria Vienna, Anderlecht, Toulouse, Valladolid, Saprissa, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Defensor Sporting e
- Pacchetti stagione: colore maglia 10 = viola, pelle
darkblond(packs/README.it.md).
SWOS++). Novità di questa versione: trascina anche DATA\TEAM.001, 002, 013, 035, 047, 055 e 071 (i file originali
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.2.7
English
SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.2.7: no more crash at the end of the season for Indian and some Brazilian careers
- Career: the game quit to DOS at FINISH SEASON when the manager's club played one of the club cups added by the mod
far from its own league calendar: every Indian club (Asian club cups) and Brazilian clubs in a South American cup
(Libertadores, Supercopa, CONMEBOL). The season then spans more than 127 calendar weeks, and the game's job-offer
timing read that number as negative. Now it is read correctly; nothing changes for the other careers. Thanks Pietro! - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.2.6 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Saves
are not touched: a career that crashed can be loaded again and the season finished.

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.2.6

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.2.6: shirt numbers with SWOS++
- With SWOS++ (English exe), the number over a booked player above 16 was hidden in 3.2.5: SWOS++ marks those numbers
in its own way, and 3.2.5 took the mark for an invalid number. Now the mod's numbers 17 to 99 are used both for the
controlled player and for the booked player, with or without SWOS++, in the same style as the game's 1 to 16.
Reported by Marco. - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.2.5 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Saves
and team files are not touched.

SWOS 96/97 Mod 3.2.5: shirt numbers 17 to 99 in matches
- The number over the controlled player (and over a booked player) now shows real shirt numbers from 17 to 99. The
original game only has small number pictures for 1 to 16: with a team whose players had higher numbers (edited
teams, or the real numbers of the Europe 1984-85 career, up to 41) it drew unrelated pictures instead, such as a
green bar next to the player or a column of sprites at the touchline. The new numbers are made from the game's own
digits, in the same style as 10 to 16. Numbers outside 1 to 99 are simply not drawn. Reported by Marco. - Updating: the patcher upgrades 3.2.4 and every earlier version (CD and GOG, also the English SWOS++ version). Saves
and team files are not touched.
