Requirements

  • Silent Hill 3 PC
  • Original 32-bit sh3.exe

Supported executable:

  • CRC32: 372ae792

Installing SH3Enhanced

  1. Install Silent Hill 3 PC
  2. Download the latest SH3Enhanced release
  3. Extract all files into the game directory (where sh3.exe is)

The folder should contain:

sh3.exe
dinput8.dll
silent-hill-3-enhanced.asi
SH3Enhanced.ini
  1. Launch the game normally.

SH3Enhanced uses Ultimate ASI Loader (dinput8.dll) for automatic ASI loading.

No launcher or external mod manager is required.

Updating

To update:

  • Replace the old files with the new release files
  • Keep your existing SH3Enhanced.ini if you want to preserve settings

Notes

  • The project currently targets the original PC executable
  • Some antivirus software may falsely flag ASI loaders
  • Other mods or wrappers may conflict with SH3Enhanced

Troubleshooting

SH3Enhanced does not load

Verify that:

  • dinput8.dll is present
  • SH3Enhanced.asi is next to sh3.exe
  • the game executable matches a supported version

Game crashes on startup

Try:

  • removing other ASI plugins
  • disabling overlays
  • checking the log file
