Cortex v0.1.0 is the first versioned snapshot of the workflow routing instructions and local CLI, packaged for first-time trials.
The README includes a recorded offline CLI walkthrough. New guides cover a minimal Direct registry, guided Claude Code setup, manual Codex integration, the first routed task, version pinning, updating, rollback and selective removal. Contribution and first-run feedback templates are included.
The share image uses only the existing violet logo and Cortex lettering. GitHub Social preview requires a separate owner upload. The checked-in PNG is at assets/cortex-social-preview.png.
Verification includes isolated runtime and installation regressions, append-only event checks, demo replay, documentation links and generated assets. The release commit passes offline checks on Ubuntu 24.04 and macOS 15 with Python 3.11 and 3.14. Two optional tests for a private intake module intentionally skip.
Cortex relies on the host agent following its instructions. It does not automatically dispatch workflows or switch models. Fixture checks do not establish live compatibility with every agent host. No external first-run study, token saving or routing improvement is claimed. The optional hosted adviser remains off by default.
Install requirements: macOS or Linux, Python 3.11 or newer, Git and Bash. See the first-run and maintenance guides before adapting an existing installation.
