iOS app shows self-hosted server as Not installed and fails with ErrorCode 300

Describe the bug
I'm trying to connect to an already installed self-hosted server using AmneziaWG v2 via the iOS app. The server was successfully installed using the macOS client, and it works correctly there. However, after importing the server configuration into the iOS app, the server is shown as "Not installed". When pressing Connect, instead of connecting, the app displays the "Choose Installation Type" selector and attempts to reinstall the server. It then shows: "Usually it takes no more than 5 minutes" followed by: "ErrorCode: 300. SSH request was denied". The server is already installed and working, so it should not attempt reinstallation.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install the app on macOS
2. Install a self-hosted VPN server using the "+" button
3. Confirm the server works on macOS
4. Install the app on iOS
5. Share the server settings from macOS using the Share button
6. Import the configuration on iOS (QR code or copy-paste)
7. Press "Connect"

Expected behavior
The iOS client should recognize the server as already installed and connect to it without attempting reinstallation.

Actual behavior
The server is marked as "Not installed" and the app attempts to reinstall it, eventually failing with: Error Code: 300. SSH request was denied

Same on actual Android app. Can be workarounded in 2 ways:

1. Share management config (with keys) and then tap "install" for same protocol already installed on server, it will think a minute and will show u that things ok and ready to work
2. Make a backup in working admin client and restore it on iOS app, and tap "install", after that client will show u that things already installed
   Anyways, frustrating issue forced me to set up 'admin' config to wife iOS phone to make it working

Unfortunately, both 1 and 2 don't work for me. ErrorCode: 902. VPN Protocal is not installed

I’m experiencing the same issue.

I have a self-hosted server set up from the macOS app. When I share client access as a .vpn file and import it on iPhone, the protocol shows as “Not installed”. When I press Connect, the app tries to install / set up a new self-hosted server instead of just connecting as a client.

On macOS AmneziaVPN: create a self-hosted server.
Share client access (connection-only) and export as .vpn for iOS.
Transfer the .vpn to iPhone and import it into iOS AmneziaVPN.
Press Connect.

The imported profile should connect as a client and iOS should show the VPN status normally.

Actual behavior
The profile shows “Not installed” and pressing Connect starts the self-hosted installation flow (as if the server is not installed / needs setup).

Excusez-moi. My tests are based on Amnezia VPN version 4.8.11.5 from Google Play.
Manually installing 4.8.12.9 fixed the issue.

The issue is related to the application version — this is explicitly stated on the official website in the FAQ section:

Can you connect to a VPN using the AmneziaWG 2.0 protocol in an older version of the AmneziaVPN application?

No.

If a guest connection using the AmneziaWG 2.0 protocol is created in AmneziaVPN versions earlier than 4.8.12.7, the connection will not work. When creating a full-access server connection in an older version of AmneziaVPN, the AmneziaWG 2.0 protocol will not be displayed even if it is installed.

To fix this on IOS ypu need to install 4.8.12... version, but it is beta version for IOS. Btw
