Version 1.2.1 fixes the PyPI description rendering error that prevented the 1.2.0 upload. The original GitHub tag is retained; manuscript review behavior is unchanged. Strict package-description validation now also runs before tagging.

PaperDelta 1.1.0
PaperDelta 1.1 adds original Word footnotes/endnotes, common merged table headers and rotated/cropped PDF pages to the existing explicit evidence-review workflow. Native files remain read-only.
- Word notes retain their OOXML part, note ID and paragraph position. Regular vertical merges retain their owning cells; explicit header depth and literal captions disambiguate tables.
- PDF page rotation, crop and nonzero origins use the same coordinates for checking, region selection and original-page highlights. Scoped visibility/clipping guards keep uncertain glyphs unverified.
- Schema 7 preserves older records. Existing PDF bindings detect the changed extractor identity and require explicit repair; regenerate pending version-bound proposals.
- A separately licensed study preserves eight original PDF/DOCX files from four PLOS article families, frozen code, independent position annotations and first-run failures. Development: 49 supported and 15 unknown of 64. First held-out: 4 supported, 4 missed, 0 mislocated and 56 unknown of 64. Unknown is not success. This small single-publisher study does not establish general accuracy or reproduce the research experiments.

Validation: all 17 named platform/browser CI checks, Python 3.11–3.14 on Windows/Linux/Apple Silicon macOS/Intel macOS. The fresh Windows installed suite passed 625 tests with three POSIX-only skips. Eight new bilingual layout browser flows and the frozen native replay passed. Package audits keep licensed native papers outside wheel/sdist; release checksums and exact-artifact receipts are attached. Markdown/Quarto remains the next approved release.
PaperDelta 1.0.0 — explicit statistics and uncertainty
PaperDelta 1.0 checks uncertainty alongside the reported result. Declare observations, variance convention and optional Student-t confidence interval, then bind mean ± SD, mean ± SE, n and confidence levels through the same reviewed workflow.
- Complete typed seed identities and missing-value checks prevent silently reduced sample sizes.
- LaTeX, Word and PDF support compound expressions, whole-expression repair, bilingual Studio and offline reports, terminal/MCP proposals and reusable batch templates.
- Rational moments and explicit high-precision approximations have independent numerical references; a larger mean never becomes an automatic significance claim.
- Schema 6 preserves legacy accepted definitions. LaTeX patches are rederived and recoverable; Word/PDF remain read-only.
- Fix schema-5 evidence patch compatibility and retain newer schemas during companion-manuscript edits.

PaperDelta 0.9.0
PaperDelta 0.9 adds static TSV/Excel result tables and portable experiment evidence. Select an Excel worksheet and range explicitly, or import completed MLflow and W&B runs into a self-contained snapshot, then check manuscripts offline.
- Original cell lexemes, typed identifiers, complete history records, source snapshots and upstream precision are retained. Missing values and unlogged metrics remain visible.
- Import uses an explicit request and creates a new export; it never silently refreshes evidence or accepts manuscript bindings. Studio supports explicit table selection and source provenance in English and Simplified Chinese.
- Excel formulas, date cells, ambiguous headers and unsupported workbook structures are rejected rather than evaluated or guessed. W&B is an optional dependency:
pip install 'paperdelta[wandb]'. - All 17 named CI jobs passed on Windows, Linux, Apple Silicon macOS and Intel macOS with Python 3.11–3.14. The final Windows installed-wheel suite passed 550 tests with three POSIX-only skips. Six bilingual browser flows passed. MLflow uses a real local HTTP test server; W&B tests exercise the real SDK history protocol with controlled transport, not a live account.

The evaluation ZIP is a separately licensed aggregate. The Python wheel and source distribution retain the project's MIT license and exclude the third-party paper corpus. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES in the evaluation bundle.
PaperDelta 0.8.0
PaperDelta 0.8 brings batch binding into the local Studio. Reuse explicit experiment identities, units, aggregations and seed contracts across a results table; save portable templates; import CLI/MCP proposals for graphical subset review. Numeric, claim and figure proposals retain exact identities and recoverable drafts.
The bilingual browser workflows cover LaTeX, Word and text-PDF, original-page highlights, cross-page selection, template files and real CLI/MCP proposal imports. On identical 24-metric inputs, the recorded setup workflow takes 103 interactions versus 270 with the published 0.6.0 wheel. This measures machine browser actions, not human time or error rates. Scope and raw records.
Install: python -m pip install --upgrade paperdelta (use paperdelta[docx,pdf] for optional native readers), then run paperdelta studio. Existing configurations/reports remain compatible. Old proposals must be regenerated; compatible 0.6/0.7 drafts can be restored after validation. CSV batch choices and all imports still require explicit author acceptance.
Validation includes all 17 named CI jobs, Python 3.11–3.14 on Windows/Linux and both macOS architectures, and isolated installed-wheel tests. The local Windows installed suite has 506 passing tests and 3 POSIX-only skips. Download hashes and the prepublication receipt are attached. The original MIT implementation and separately licensed evaluation materials remain separate.

PaperDelta v0.7.0
PaperDelta 0.7 brings ongoing experiment review into the local bilingual Studio. After saving a snapshot, change your experiment data and review the affected numbers, claims and figures alongside their selected evidence.
- Compare snapshots; inspect exact evidence and manuscript locations.
- Preview and confirm edits or dependent removals of existing declarations, with configuration backups.
- Repair moved bindings and record claim reviews without turning a failed comparison into a pass.
- Watch for stable input changes; restore durable drafts after restart or explicitly rebuild selected declarations against changed inputs.
- Search every scanned candidate with pagination, and filter large metric and impact lists.
- Preserve LaTeX/Word/PDF workflows, English/Chinese switching, old accepted configuration/report schemas, and optional read-only MCP tools.
On the recorded Windows/Python 3.12 workload (500 metrics, 20 files, 10 MB CSV), subsequent state-response P95 decreased from 2.026 to 0.222 seconds compared with the published 0.6 wheel. Initialization and first response did not improve. See the versioned measurements and limits in the release guide.

paperdelta studioLaTeX-only projects can install paperdelta without extras. Word/PDF remain read-only. The wheel and source archive contain the original MIT code; the separate evaluation archive preserves the licenses of its included papers. SHA256SUMS identifies the exact three distribution files.

PaperDelta 0.6.0 — Visual binding workbench
PaperDelta 0.6 adds a local visual binding workbench.
Run paperdelta studio to inspect CSV/JSON evidence, declare exact metrics, select LaTeX/Word/PDF positions and explicitly save reviewed bindings. The browser supports English/Chinese, PDF page selection and enlargement, draft download/restore, undo and offline report downloads.
Input hashes and session revisions prevent stale acceptance; selected dependencies are saved with a configuration backup. Paper/data files and MCP tools remain read-only. Existing configuration/report schemas 1–4 stay supported.

- Share explicitly declared CSV/JSON metrics across LaTeX, Word and PDF. Detect a corrected source whose declared PDF export is still stale.
- Preview manuscript/region changes before accepting them; preserve backups, parser identity and input hashes.
- Keep scans, complex tables, hidden text and other recognized unsupported content unverified. No OCR or native-document writeback.
- Preserve schema 1–3 compatibility; PDF records use schema 4. Regenerate unaccepted proposals after upgrading.

Native suites include 25 PDF layouts/125 labelled positions and 22 Word structures/110 labelled positions. Original fixtures are not an accuracy estimate on arbitrary PDFs. The attached validation bundle records exact platform results, artifact identities, offline browser checks and separate timing measurements.

PaperDelta 0.4.0 — Word manuscript review / Word 稿件检查

PaperDelta 0.4 adds read-only Word manuscript review. It reads paragraphs, numbers
split across formatting runs, headings, captions and ordinary tables, and reports
native paragraph/cell positions. Binding, batch selection, repairs, claims, scopes,
snapshots, watch and the 17 read-only MCP tools share the existing evidence rules.

paperdelta demo --document docx --out word-demo --openWord files are never rewritten. Unsupported revisions, fields, equations, hidden
content and complex tables remain explicitly unverified. Correct the manuscript in
its editor and check again. LaTeX remains available in the core install, with its
existing guarded patch and recovery workflow. Native documents use configuration
and report schema 3; older LaTeX configurations and reports remain readable.
All 16 Windows/Linux/macOS jobs passed for this exact commit, covering Python
3.11–3.14 and both macOS architectures. The suite has 329 cases; Windows passes 326
and skips 3 POSIX-only cases. Word tests include 22 supported structural fixtures
and 110 labelled positions. English/Chinese desktop/mobile report checks and
isolated core/full installation checks passed. The validation archive records
artifact identities, platform results and separate cold/warm/render timings.

Recreate unaccepted drafts/proposals/patches after upgrading. The evaluation ZIP
retains separately licensed historical material; it is not bundled in the Python
distributions. PyPI publication uses these same verified wheel/sdist bytes.
