Termix v1.8.0 – Sorting Functionality & Refactor

This is a major feature release for Termix, focusing on powerful new sorting capabilitie sand a massive internal code refactoring to pave the way for future development.

New Features

Interactive Sorting Menu

You can now sort directory contents on the fly!

  • Press T in the main view to open a beautiful new sorting menu.
  • Sort by Name, Date Modified, or File Size.
  • Choose between Ascending (A-Z, Oldest, Smallest) and Descending (Z-A, Newest, Largest) order.
  • Keep directories grouped at the top or mix them in with files for a fully integrated sort.
  • The menu uses clear, user-friendly descriptions instead of technical jargon.

Code Refactoring & Internal Changes

  • Major Code Modularization: The primary FileManager class was becoming too large. It has been refactored into a lean orchestrator that delegates logic to a new set of focused handler classes:
    • ActionHandler
    • NavigationHandler
    • FilterHandler
  • Centralized State Management: A new FileManagerState class now holds all application state, making the logic cleaner and more predictable.
  • New Project Structure: The new handler classes have been organized into a Handlers directory to improve project organization and maintainability.

This refactoring makes the codebase significantly easier to understand, maintain, and extend with new features in the future.

Installation

macOS / Linux

You can install or update Termix directly via our official installer:
