v2.2.0
Termix v2.2.0
We're excited to announce the release of Termix v2.2.0, a significant update focused on improving workflow efficiency, user experience, and alignment with powerful terminal conventions. This release introduces major new features and quality-of-life improvements that make Termix faster and more intuitive to use.
⚠️ Important Change for Existing Users: "Copy" is now "Yank"
To better align with standard terminal and Vim conventions, the primary keybinding for copying files has changed. This is the only breaking change in this release, but it is a critical one for existing users.
| Old Key | New Key | Action |
|---|---|---|
C |
y |
Yank (Copy) selected item(s) to the internal clipboard. |
We believe this change, while requiring a small adjustment, makes the application more ergonomic and familiar for seasoned terminal users.
✨ New Features
1. Introducing the Help Screen (?)
The cluttered footer is gone! Termix now features a clean, minimal interface by default. To see a full list of all available commands, simply press ?.
- A beautiful, comprehensive table displays all keybindings and their functions.
- Fully scrollable using
↑/↓andj/k. - Press
?,q, orEscto dismiss it at any time.
2. Yank Full Path to System Clipboard (Y)
A new, dedicated key Y (Shift + y) now copies the absolute path of the selected file or directory directly to your system clipboard. This makes it trivial to paste paths into other terminal windows, scripts, or applications.
3. Smart Pasting: Create Directories on the Fly
Earlier you had to create a folder first and then paste your copied files into it. Now you can just copy your files, create a folder anywhere you like, and press p to paste directly.
