ClickDown v1.0.0

First release of ClickDown — a fast, lightweight, multi-team Kanban task manager built on Bun and SQLite. Hypermedia-driven UI (HTMX + Alpine.js, no client-side framework or build step), fully local-first: one Bun process provides the database, file storage, and real-time updates. No CDN, cloud service, or external broker required.

Highlights

Tasks — Markdown descriptions with live preview, priorities, assignees, due dates, checklists, comments, labels, attachments, duplicate/bulk-delete, archive with recycle bin, per-task activity log, and shareable /tasks/:id deep links.

Boards — Customizable columns (colors, WIP limits, drag reorder), drag-and-drop tasks, live search, "My tasks only" filter, archived view, and keyboard shortcuts (/, n, Esc).

Teams — Multi-team isolation with owner/admin/member roles and tokenized invite links (regenerable).

Real-time — In-process WebSockets: live presence avatars, instant task updates across viewers, and refresh deferral while you have a dialog open.

🤖 MCP endpoint — AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) can find and work on tasks via the Model Context Protocol at POST /api/mcp. Create a personal token in Profile → API Tokens, then connect with one command:

claude mcp add --transport http clickdown http://localhost:3000/api/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer <your-token>"

16 tools covering teams, boards, tasks, checklists, comments, and search. Agent edits broadcast live to open boards.

Getting started

bun install
bun run dev # http://localhost:3000

Or with Docker:

docker build -t clickdown .
docker run -p 3000:3000 -v clickdown-data:/app/data clickdown

Quality

  • 288 unit + integration tests, 164 Playwright E2E tests (Chromium + Firefox), all green in CI
  • Security: bcrypt (cost 12), HttpOnly sessions, CSRF Origin checks, CSP with vendored assets, per-user rate limits, SHA-256-hashed API tokens, XSS-safe rendering enforced by CI
