Release list
Collapsible Ribbon 1.2.1
Ribbon order now stays synchronized with Settings → Interface → Ribbon menu configuration in both directions.
- Dragging ribbon icons refreshes Obsidian's cached settings list, including when Settings is closed.
- Reordering in Settings updates the ribbon and saved plugin order without being undone.
- The latest explicit reorder from either control wins; late-loading and temporarily absent icons retain their saved positions.
- Native handlers, hidden states and existing preferences are preserved. No new settings or dependencies.
- Native method wrappers and pending refreshes are cleaned up on unload and layout replacement, preserving other plugins' wrappers.
Verification: TypeScript and production build passed, all 31 behavior tests passed, native Obsidian 1.13.7 ribbon and Settings callbacks passed in isolated fixtures, and all five Obsidian/AnuPpuccin browser variants passed. The browser Settings panel uses a fixture renderer; live Obsidian acceptance, including its separate Settings window, remains manual.
After updating, drag in the ribbon and check the configuration list; then reorder there and check the ribbon. Repeat after restarting and reloading a ribbon-adding plugin.
For manual updates, replace main.js, manifest.json and styles.css, keeping your existing data.json. The ZIP contains those three runtime files in a collapsible-ribbon folder.
Collapsible Ribbon 1.2.0
Collapsible Ribbon now remembers your custom ribbon order across restarts and restores late-loading plugin icons to their saved positions.
- Native dragging updates the saved order through Obsidian's plugin data API.
- Temporarily missing or disabled plugin commands retain their positions; new commands append.
- Native action nodes, handlers and hidden states are preserved.
- Existing pin, width, animation and label preferences are retained.
After updating, arrange your icons once if their current order is incorrect. Check a restart and a plugin reload in Obsidian. Uninstalling/disabling the plugin removes its ordering observer and listeners without reverting the visible order.
Validation: TypeScript and production build passed; all 23 behavior tests passed; an isolated test using Obsidian 1.13.7's native ribbon code passed; browser fixtures passed across five light/dark AnuPpuccin variants. Live Obsidian acceptance remains a manual check.
For manual updates, replace main.js, manifest.json and styles.css, keeping your existing data.json. The ZIP contains those three runtime files in a collapsible-ribbon folder.
Collapsible Ribbon 1.1.1
Fix missing ribbon icons when another plugin requests an icon that Obsidian no longer provides. Kanban 2.0.51 uses the unavailable lucide-trello icon; its Create new board action now receives a Kanban fallback icon in the collapsed and expanded rail.
The original action node and click handler are retained. Existing icons are untouched. If a plugin later supplies its own icon, the fallback is removed; disabling Collapsible Ribbon also removes all fallback icons.
Requires desktop Obsidian 1.13.7 or later. TypeScript, production build, 14 behavior tests, and five browser fixtures using Obsidian/AnuPpuccin CSS passed. Live Obsidian testing remains to be done.
For manual installation, extract collapsible-ribbon.zip into your vault's .obsidian/plugins directory and reload Collapsible Ribbon. The individual main.js, manifest.json and styles.css assets are provided for Obsidian's community directory.
Collapsible Ribbon 1.1.0
Hover over a left-ribbon action to reveal labelled rows without moving the editor. Pin the rail to keep it open and reserve space, and drag the right edge to adjust its width from 120 to 300 pixels.
- Default expanded width: 220 pixels.
- Pin state and width persist through Obsidian restarts.
- Expanded ribbon tooltips are suppressed.
- Keyboard resizing, optional animation and labels, and dynamic plugin actions are supported.
- Upgrading from 1.0 resets to unpinned at 220 pixels once, preserving label and animation preferences.
Desktop Obsidian 1.13.7 or later. MIT licensed.
For manual installation, extract collapsible-ribbon.zip into your vault's .obsidian/plugins folder, then enable Collapsible Ribbon. The individual main.js, manifest.json and styles.css assets are also provided for Obsidian installation.
TypeScript, production build and all 13 behavior tests passed. CSS browser fixtures previously passed five Obsidian/AnuPpuccin layouts. Live Obsidian acceptance checks remain documented in the README. This release has not been submitted to the community directory.
