GISFORUS Spatial Research Suite v1.1.1 — quality-of-life update for macOS and Windows.

This release adds a unified Export Manager and in-app updates, so gathering deliverables and staying current is effortless.

Downloads

  • macOS (Apple Silicon): GISFORUS-Spatial-Suite-1.1.1-arm64.dmg — ~610 MB
  • Windows (64-bit): GISFORUS-Spatial-Suite-1.1.1-x64.exe — ~944 MB

Both bundle their own R + Python runtime — nothing else to install. Runs on your own Earth Engine account and quota; your imagery, boundaries and analysis stay on your machine (GEE compute is locked to localhost in the packaged build).

What's new

  • New Export Manager: every output collects in one place. Save any result — data, reports, figures, boundaries, publication layouts — then download items individually or all at once. A clear popup confirms each save.
  • In-app updates: check for and install new versions from the app menu — no browser needed. Downloads are verified against the published SHA-256 before installing.
  • Shapefile Extractor now pulls India State / District boundaries live from geoBoundaries (no bundled files), plus a new custom ROI — type a bounding box or draw your own.
  • Friendlier errors with clear "what to do next" guidance, and a smarter Run flow.
  • Your last analysis settings are remembered between sessions.
  • Publication Studio: calmer, cleaner layout with aligned controls.
  • Refreshed "Cite Methods" with current, publication-ready references.
  • Stability + security hardening for geometry handling, first-run startup (Windows) and the local compute service.

First run

  • macOS: not notarized yet — open via System Settings → Privacy & Security → "Open Anyway".
  • Windows: SmartScreen → "More info → Run anyway"; allow R through the firewall when asked (it only talks to your own computer).
  • Both: sign in to Google Earth Engine in your browser and enter your EE project ID once.

Checksums (SHA-256)

  • macOS DMG: c598886662ea000664b57f2f913680ee6216ba0861b0c1bb99831c1a425dfdbe
  • Windows EXE: 28f18b948391b94969576ef34477ab9d3a786f8e41bde046e3f4d21a0b014a61

License

Source in this repository is MIT (the open research build). The packaged GISFORUS desktop app is a proprietary product; its paid export features are not part of the MIT grant.

Code-signing (Mac notarization + Windows signing) is planned to remove the first-run prompts.

First public macOS build of the GISFORUS Spatial Research Suite — publication-grade satellite analysis on your own Google Earth Engine, no code.

  • Publication Studio — new drag-and-drop figure composer: place maps, charts and analyses as movable bricks, add a coordinate grid, accurate scale bar, north arrow and legend, and export print-ready figures (~380 DPI)
  • LULC engine — Random Forest / CART / SVM classification with confidence maps, accuracy assessment, multi-year change detection and transition matrices
  • GEE Cloud Analytics — 41 analysis layers across 8 categories (25+ spectral indices plus terrain, climate, air-quality, flood, nightlights and population), zonal statistics and Mann-Kendall trends
  • Runs on your own Earth Engine — your imagery, boundaries and analysis never leave your Mac; only a subscription is verified by email
  • Free to run; subscribe to export — Basic (₹299/mo) for data exports, Pro (₹799/mo) for the full PDF report and workspace bundle

Requirements: macOS 12+ · Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) · a free Google Earth Engine account.

First launch: macOS will warn about an unidentified developer — open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway once (full steps on gisforus.com/mac/).
