1.9.1
What's changed
- Configuration backup and restore (#11). General Settings now has Export backup and Restore backup. A backup is a JSON file with your saved fan configurations, PWM labels (including USB controller identities), dashboard switches and fan order. Restore asks for confirmation, checks the whole file before changing anything, rolls back if replacing the files fails, and leaves fan control running or stopped as it was. Custom sensor scripts, history and logs are not included and are left untouched. (#14)
- Custom sensors on the flash drive work (#9). The Unraid flash drive cannot hold an execute bit, so scripts in
/boot/config/plugins/fanctrlplus2/sensors.d/were never offered or read. Scripts now only need to be readable and start with a shebang line: the plugin runs a fresh private copy of each one from runtime storage, using the script's own interpreter. The 5-second timeout and the "print the temperature only" contract are unchanged. (#14) - PWM labels containing characters such as
<or&now display correctly in the controller dropdowns.
Upgrade compatibility
Existing configurations need no migration. Custom sensor scripts no longer need chmod +x. They now run from a copy, so $0 points to the copy: use absolute paths for any helper files a script reads.
Keep backups somewhere other than the Unraid flash drive, and back up custom sensor scripts separately.
Verification
All 26 test files pass. The flash-drive sensor fix was checked on a real noexec mount. Export and restore were exercised through the actual settings page, including restoring while fan control was running and while it was stopped. Physical hardware validation is welcome.
