@andrewblount andrewblount released this 03 Oct 21:56

Retires Trial Balance and planning, forecast, approval, close and reconciliation workflows from the PolyAccounts agent connection. The current catalog retains ledger evidence, P&L, Balance Sheet, billing, bank imports and immutable accounting snapshots. Demo tools and reusable instructions now match the available API.

Verified the demo and installed executables, hosted catalog parity and release artifact hashes. Historical releases remain available unchanged.

Fixes the hosted connector executable so npx starts it with Node. Both the demo and hosted launchers are verified from the packaged archive. This replaces the 1.2.0 archive for npx use.

Includes 52 tools, 86 application workflows, a self-serve synthetic sandbox and exact decimal accounting lifecycle tools. Early-access evaluation only. Payment-recording tools do not send funds.

Use Agent Kit 1.2.1 for npx installation. Version 1.2.0 has a hosted executable launch issue fixed in 1.2.1. Remote MCP and direct Node execution are unaffected.

PolyAccounts agents can now draft, post and reverse multiline journals, manage general invoices and vendor bills, record deposits and payments, match bank imports without duplicates, and review historical AR/AP with source evidence and stable close exports.

The hosted connector exposes 52 tools including self-serve sandbox creation and 86 existing application workflows. Full delegation is the default, with optional administrator restrictions. All activity remains company scoped with revisions, exact decimal amounts and durable write receipts.

Install the versioned GitHub archive through npx, use the downloadable bridge, or connect to the remote MCP endpoint with OAuth. This package is not published on npm.

Validated with 124 unit tests, 41 isolated synthetic integration checks and six agent-kit tests. This is an early-access synthetic evaluation release. Recording an external payment does not send money. Provider-backed vendor payments, automatic Stripe refund/dispute resolution, paid-document credits, production recovery and professional accounting acceptance remain separate work.

Accounting for companies that work with AI agents.

This release includes an invented company, a dependency-free MCP demo, an expense-review example that verifies every cited entry, and the full-access hosted accounting connector.

  • Install polyaccounts-demo.mcpb to try the synthetic company without an account or API key.
  • Install polyaccounts-hosted.mcpb to connect an approved synthetic workspace using a company administrator's credential.
  • Use the Node package with a stdio-compatible MCP client.
  • Check SHA256SUMS before installing downloaded artifacts.

The demo is read-only. The hosted connector supports company-scoped reads, creation, updates, soft deletion and accounting workflows. Hosted access remains limited to supervised synthetic evaluation. It is not a remote MCP or OAuth connection.

See https://polyaccounts.com/demo and the repository README for the working example and installation instructions.
