Installation and preview status

  • macOS: open the DMG and drag Termleaf into Applications. This preview is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple. The DMG includes the notarization ticket, and both the DMG and contained app pass Gatekeeper verification. Apple guidance: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102445
  • Windows: run the setup executable. This preview is unsigned and may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen prompt.
  • Linux AppImage: mark the downloaded file executable and run it. On systems without FUSE support, use the Debian package where supported.
  • Debian / Ubuntu: install the downloaded .deb using your package manager. WebKitGTK 4.1 and other runtime dependencies are declared in the package.

Back up important drafts while evaluating the preview. Native installation/launch on Windows and Linux has not been manually exercised on physical devices; their installers are built in the private CI pipeline. The macOS disk image, universal architectures, code signature, notarization ticket and Gatekeeper acceptance are checked before publication.

Verify a download

SHA256SUMS.txt lists the SHA-256 digest of every installer. On macOS use shasum -a 256 <downloaded-file>; on Linux use sha256sum <downloaded-file>; on Windows PowerShell use Get-FileHash <downloaded-file> -Algorithm SHA256 and compare the digest.

Repository boundary

Only desktop installers and checksums are published here. Desktop/mobile application development remains in a private repository. GitHub's automatically generated source archives contain the public terminal/core repository, not the desktop application source.

This desktop preview is deliberately not marked as the latest release. The existing terminal installer and terminal release remain unchanged. License and third-party asset notices are included in each desktop bundle.

macOS update (2026-09-29): the DMG now includes Apple notarization. Its SHA-256 checksum has changed; download the current DMG and checksum manifest together. The application version and Windows/Linux installers are unchanged.
