🧪 Advanced History v2.2.0-beta.1

This beta introduces the new Advanced History dashboard card, shared date navigation, improved comparison controls, running totals, climate history enhancements, and extensive dashboard synchronization fixes.

📊 Advanced History dashboard card

  • Added the new custom:advanced-history-sgcc-card.
  • Export the active Advanced History panel while retaining its date navigation and grouped charts.
  • Added editable card titles and native SGCC visual-editor access.
  • Added support for creating a new dashboard view during export.
  • Exported cards now default to Home Assistant’s Full width layout.
  • Removed obsolete Energy-dashboard synchronization dependencies.
  • Consolidated exported SGCC configuration to prevent settings leaking between Advanced History and child cards.

📅 Date and period navigation

  • Replaced the old Energy period selector with the shared Advanced History date selector.
  • Added synchronized date navigation between grouped dashboard cards.
  • Added rolling live ranges shared by AHP and AHC.
  • Added automatic date-picker hiding.
  • Improved date-selector sizing, positioning, highlighting, and responsive layout.
  • Preserved the selected live range when refreshing, switching panels, or reopening Advanced History.
  • Synchronized automatic scaling and grouping between linked child cards.
  • Removed the unused Calendar editor section from SGCC configuration.

🔄 Comparison improvements

  • Added a comparison settings menu with period and comparison-count controls.
  • Added comparison status to bookmark summaries.
  • Added correctly formatted comparison banners, legends, and tooltips.
  • Comparison labels now show their actual date or year.
  • Preserved dashboard comparison selections across refreshes and reconnects.
  • Fixed comparison settings leaking into exported cards when comparison was disabled.
  • Fixed short-range and running-total comparison alignment.
  • Added the option to exclude Y2 entities from comparisons.

➕ Running totals

  • Added optional running totals for individual entities or complete axes.
  • Running totals preserve gaps and correctly carry aligned comparison values.
  • Legend statistics are recalculated from the displayed cumulative series.
  • Dashboard exports restore the entity’s original aggregation instead of exporting Advanced History’s internal running-total aggregation.

🌡️ Climate and More Info history

  • Added native climate history support for current temperature, target temperature, and target temperature ranges.
  • Added HVAC mode background spans for heating, cooling, automatic, dry, fan-only, and heat/cool states.
  • Climate series and HVAC modes follow Home Assistant’s native colours.
  • Shared native attribute handling between More Info and AHP.
  • Added card_border_radius: 0 to the More Info defaults.

🔖 Bookmarks and panels

  • Added drag-and-drop bookmark reordering.
  • Reduced bookmark row height.
  • Added panel-specific target display names.
  • Improved inline target and panel renaming.
  • Added Y1 and Y2 axis visibility controls.
  • Preserved hidden-series state during dashboard interactions.

📥 Downloads and exports

  • The AHC download button downloads data from every grouped chart.
  • Multiple charts are packaged as separate CSV files inside one ZIP.
  • Exported data respects the selected SGCC grouping and aggregation.
  • Fixed exported running-total data using the wrong aggregation.
  • Fixed stale comparison configuration appearing in dashboard previews.
  • Improved dashboard YAML ordering and fallback behaviour.

🐛 Stability fixes

  • Fixed charts occasionally losing data after entering or leaving editor mode.
  • Fixed period and comparison selections resetting after refresh.
  • Fixed linked cards using different automatic grouping intervals.
  • Fixed comparison periods disappearing or requiring reselection.
  • Fixed date-selector highlighting becoming stuck.
  • Fixed chart height changes during navigation and legend interaction.
  • Fixed duplicate and unstable series colours.
  • Fixed child-card scaling and grouping becoming unsynchronized.
  • Removed legacy dashboard-card compatibility paths and associated cleanup.

⬆️ Updating with HACS

  1. Open HACS → Integrations → Advanced History.
  2. Open the three-dot menu and select Redownload.
  3. Enable Show beta versions.
  4. Select v2.2.0-beta.1.
  5. Select Download.
  6. Restart Home Assistant.
  7. Refresh the browser or fully close and reopen the Home Assistant app.

Please ensure that Statistics Graph Chart Card v4.02 or newer is installed.

📦 Manual update

  1. Download advanced_history.zip from this release.
  2. Replace /config/custom_components/advanced_history with the contents of the ZIP.
  3. Restart Home Assistant.
  4. Refresh the browser or reopen the Home Assistant app.

✅ Suggested checks after updating

  • Test fixed and rolling date ranges in AHP and AHC.
  • Switch panels and confirm live ranges and comparisons remain selected.
  • Export a panel with comparison disabled and confirm it remains disabled.
  • Export grouped cards and confirm they default to Full width.
  • Test automatic and manually selected SGCC grouping.
  • Download data from an AHC containing multiple grouped charts.
  • Open a climate entity in More Info and AHP and confirm temperature colours and HVAC background spans.
  • Reorder bookmarks and confirm their order persists.
