Blackholes 0.1.17
Blackholes 0.1.17
See which agents finished responding, which need your input, and which are still working, with a sidebar you can adjust to your workspace.
Changes
- Clear response states. Green means a response is ready; yellow means the agent needs your response or permission. Notifications sit over a dimmed provider icon, while a white spinner indicates work in progress.
- Agents ordered by attention and activity. Pending notifications appear first, newest first, followed by working agents and then idle agents. Manual ordering remains available within working or idle sessions.
- Notifications survive a restart. Unacknowledged agent notices remain visible until you open their session. Completion notices no longer disappear when a provider returns to idle or get replaced by startup messages.
- Status throughout the project tree. Project and Worktree Group icons summarize pending notices, including agents inside repositories. Yellow takes priority when both kinds exist. Collapsed Agents shows a notification dot beside its title.
- Adjustable sidebar sections. Drag the divider between Agents and Projects vertically; the saved proportion returns after reopening. Double-click restores the default split. Group icons also appear beside their agent's context.
- A more consistent interface. Aligned tree icons and labels, shared light and dark colors, a matching Settings sidebar width, and solid green New labels make navigation easier to scan. Release notes use a simpler layout without decorative cards.
- Terminal content stays behind dialogs. Native macOS transparency is enabled for overlays so confirmations can dim the current terminal without replacing its content with an opaque background. Temporary reveal highlights no longer add a side stripe.
- Compact progress indicators. Working spinners remain visible over dimmed logos and animate independently of global CSS transition rules.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.17-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use Check for updates. Save pending work
and finish active sessions before installing or relaunching.
The release includes the DMG installer, Sparkle update ZIP and appcast,
corresponding source, and SHA-256 checksums.
Validation and limitations
- Built with
./scripts/build-release, including the embedded frontend and Rust binaries. Distribution signatures, Apple notarization, stapled tickets, and final checksums are verified before publication. - No automated tests or end-to-end updater run were performed during release preparation. Compilation and notarization do not establish runtime or updater behavior.
- Agent states follow structured provider hooks and terminal status events. A question written only as ordinary response text can still be classified as a completed response.

Blackholes 0.1.16
Blackholes 0.1.16
Worktree Groups bring your branches, agents and current context together, with a simpler page you can edit directly.
Changes
- Tasks are now Worktree Groups. A group keeps the worktrees and branches of
several repositories together. Existing groups, IDs, files and sessions remain
compatible, including older task-named MCP calls. - Edit in place with autosave. Type directly in the title and context, choose
an emoji or app icon, and add several GitHub pull requests or context links.
Links need only a type and URL. New edits survive an in-flight save; concurrent
agent changes preserve your draft for review. - Keep context current. Generated Claude/Codex instructions and MCP guidance
tell agents to rewrite obsolete context and maintain relevant links, preserving
requirements and unresolved work instead of appending a progress history. - Agents shows active terminals. Restorable sessions stay in Projects until
activated. Idle, working and attention sessions with live terminal processes
appear in Agents; inactive sessions retain their saved order. - Close groups and reclaim disk. One UI confirmation lists terminals, changes
and extra files before removing managed worktrees and the group folder. Git
branches are preserved by default. Restored tabs without processes no longer
block closure, and Claude/Codex session IDs are retained in closure results. - Batch closure through MCP. Close up to 32 groups with explicit terminal,
uncommitted-change and extra-file policies. A blocked group does not stop the
batch. The calling group is protected when its terminal, cwd or process ancestry
can be identified; detached external clients may not expose that information. - More reliable agent integration. Agent launches pass commands through the
login shell, inject the current MCP connection and avoid typing long settings
into the PTY. Tracking hooks run asynchronously. Claude native terminal status
reports and current Codex app-server transport are supported. - Object-shaped MCP results. List tools return named object envelopes, fixing
clients that rejected array-valued structured content. New Worktree Group tool
names coexist with callable legacy aliases.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.16-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use Check for updates. Save pending work
and finish active sessions before installing or relaunching.
Closing a group can permanently remove its worktrees and extra files: review the
confirmation or MCP discard policies. Read closure results for blocked or partial
cleanup. Reconnect external MCP clients after updating to refresh tool schemas;
review changed Codex tracking hooks through /hooks if required by your CLI.
The release includes the DMG installer, Sparkle update ZIP and appcast,
corresponding source, and SHA-256 checksums.
Validation and limitations
- Built with
./scripts/build-release, including the embedded frontend and
Rust binaries. Distribution artifacts are signed and notarized; signatures,
stapled tickets and final checksums are verified before publication. - No new automated test run, application launch, manual installation or update
from an older installed version was performed during release preparation.
Compilation and notarization do not establish runtime or updater behavior. - The document editor stores plain text/Markdown source. Context maintenance is
guidance for agents, not a background model that rewrites documents itself.

Blackholes 0.1.15
Blackholes 0.1.15
A small visual fix that keeps your workspace within reach while you catch up on recent releases.
Changes
- Release notes now stay inside the central workspace, with the sidebar
visible and resizable. Select a project, task, repository, or terminal to open it directly. - A compact history shows the latest three versions. The current version's
changes are expanded, and previous versions can be opened individually. - A link to all releases on GitHub opens the complete history in your browser.
Recent notes remain available offline in English and Spanish.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.15-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use Check for updates. Save pending work
and close active sessions before installing an update.
The release includes the DMG installer, a Sparkle update ZIP and appcast,
corresponding source, and SHA-256 checksums.
Validation and limitations
- Built with
./scripts/build-release, including the embedded frontend and
Rust binaries. Distribution artifacts are signed and notarized, with signature,
ticket, and checksum verification before publication. - Automated tests, application launches, manual installation, and an update
from an older installation were not performed. The visual changes have not
been independently verified at runtime.

Blackholes 0.1.14
Blackholes 0.1.14
Keep account usage up to date and discover what changed after every update.
Automatic account usage
- Codex and Claude usage refreshes when Blackholes opens, every 10 minutes
while it is running, and when you click the refresh button. - The bottom bar only shows providers installed on your computer. Each provider
is detected independently, including installations available through your shell. - Temporary connection, account, or provider failures keep the last available
report. Usage queries run in the background with time limits and never open
blocking error dialogs. An asterisk identifies a report whose refresh failed. - Providers installed or removed while the app is open are detected at the next
automatic or manual refresh.
Release notes inside Blackholes
- The current version's release notes appear on the main screen the first time
you open a new version, in your selected language. - Close them with the X in the upper-right corner to return to your workspace.
Blackholes remembers the dismissal for that version. - Use the small rocket icon beside the version to read the notes again.
- Notes are included in the application and remain available offline.
Agent model selection through MCP
- Select a model when creating a task with
agentModel, or when launching task
agents withmodel. Batch launches can use one model or a different one per task. - Codex, Claude, Gemini, and OpenCode receive the requested model, and restored
terminals retain that selection. Omitting the model uses the provider's default.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.14-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use Check for updates. Save pending work
and close active sessions before installing an update.
Provider CLIs are installed and authenticated separately. Usage availability
depends on each provider's account and supported metadata interface; unavailable
reports do not prevent you from using Blackholes.
Distribution validation
Release binaries and embedded frontend assets were compiled with ./scripts/build-release. The app and DMG are signed with Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and distributed with a signed Sparkle update feed and SHA-256 checksums. Automated tests and an end-to-end upgrade from an older installation were not run.

Blackholes 0.1.13
Blackholes 0.1.13
Create projects and tasks with clearer forms, find repositories faster, and
open project terminals directly from MCP clients.
Changes
- Redesigned project creation with expandable setup choices and tabs for local
folders and GitHub. Select local repositories before adding them, or queue
GitHub repositories using their full URLs. GitHub now uses its own logo. - Added repository search to task creation, compact selection rows, a selection
count, and actions that select or deselect the current search results without
losing selections outside the filter. - Reorganized branch options around creating a task branch, continuing a local
branch, or using a branch from origin. Custom menus include explanations and
keyboard navigation. The optional starting point is collapsed by default,
and recreating a branch clearly identifies its backup behavior. - Unified modal field styling with subtler focus borders and lighter controls.
Removed unnecessary separators and reserved extra sidebar space only when
scrolling is needed. - Updated keyboard focus and event routing for the Cmd+O and Cmd+P search
overlays when opened from a terminal, including clipboard shortcuts and
native macOS arrow-key handling. Added both shortcuts to the empty workspace. - Added the MCP tool
open_project_terminalto open a shell in a project or
repository without creating a task, optionally running a single-line command.
Terminals remain visible in Blackholes; commands are not replayed when a saved
session is restored. The default keeps the current view, with an option to
reveal and focus the new terminal. - Updated MCP documentation, integration instructions, and third-party notices.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.13-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use Check for updates. Save pending work
and close active sessions before installing an update.
The release includes the DMG installer, a Sparkle update ZIP and appcast,
corresponding source, and SHA-256 checksums. Provider CLIs are installed and
authenticated separately; they are not bundled with Blackholes.
Validation and limitations
- Release compilation uses
./scripts/build-releasefor the embedded frontend
and Rust binaries. Distribution artifacts are signed and notarized before
publication, with signature, ticket, and checksum verification. - Automated tests, application launches, manual installation, and an update
from an older installation were not performed for this release. The interface
and keyboard changes have not been independently verified at runtime. - This release targets Apple Silicon only. The MCP terminal command must be a
single line of at most 1,000 bytes; each call opens a new terminal.
Blackholes 0.1.12
Blackholes 0.1.12
Review agent work with Git history, make small manual commits, and search across your repository.
Changes
- Added manual commits with a message field, per-file and group staging actions,
and separate staged/pending diffs. Existing Git identity, hooks, and signing
settings apply. - Added repository text search with grouped results, line navigation, case and
whole-word options, regular expressions, and include/exclude file filters. - Collapsed Graph stays at the bottom of Source Control. The file filter has
been removed from Changes. - Added a collapsible Source Control graph with commit ancestry, branch and tag
labels, outgoing commits, and incoming/outgoing counts. Open commits to inspect
their files and historical diffs, including selectable parents for merges. - Added explicit fetch and a push preview showing the destination branch and
commit. Push uses existing Git authentication and never forces an update. - Git metadata changes refresh the graph while Source Control is open, including
changes made by agents in linked worktrees. - Removed the Accounts and Usage pages, the global provider selector, and the
built-in account authentication flow from Settings. Sign in through each
provider's CLI; the bottom bar still shows local Claude and Codex usage. - New terminals use the computer's CLI account configuration. Saved sessions
retain their existing profiles, including legacy isolated Blackholes profiles.
Existing account files are preserved. - MCP settings now show one row per client. Expand Configuration details to
inspect profile locations, individual statuses, and warnings. Automatic MCP
setup and the refresh connection action remain available. - Removed the Manage account shortcut from MCP settings and the hover tooltip
over the memory and terminal indicators. The indicators remain visible. - Updated the usage, architecture, and MCP documentation.

and Rust binaries. Distribution artifacts are signed and notarized before
publication, with signature, ticket, and checksum verification. - Automated tests, application launches, manual installation, and an update
from an older installation were not performed for this release. - Account usage depends on the installed CLI and its signed-in local account.
The bottom bar does not query legacy isolated Blackholes profiles. - Memory reports only the Blackholes process, excluding agent, shell, and
WebKit subprocesses. Terminal count includes open terminal panes.

Blackholes 0.1.10
Blackholes 0.1.10
Account usage at a glance and a more compact workspace for terminal agents.
Changes
- Added a bottom bar for the local Claude Code and Codex accounts. Click a
provider to see its available usage limits, reset times, and last update. - The bar prefers the five-hour allowance and falls back to weekly or another
reported limit. Labels reflect the actual window; missing limits are omitted
from the details panel, while a valid zero percent remains visible. - Refresh both providers with the adjacent refresh button. Its arrow stays
visible and rotates until the requests finish. Failed requests preserve the
previous report and mark it as outdated. - Fixed usage panels closing immediately when focus moves into them. Keyboard
shortcuts and Dock activation continue to target the main workspace. - Added the open-terminal count and Blackholes process memory usage on the
right side of the bar. - Agents and Projects can be collapsed independently by clicking their arrow
or title. Their state is saved across restarts, and the remaining section
uses the available space. Section headers and Settings are more compact. - The home screen now displays the Blackholes logo above its description.
- Removed the blue outline around the active terminal.
- Shortened the README and organized the documentation, with contributor,
supported-agent, and star-history links. Downloads point to blackholes.dev.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.10-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use Check for updates. Save pending work

and Rust binaries. Distribution artifacts are signed and notarized before
publication, with signature, ticket, and checksum verification. - Automated tests, application launches, manual installation, and an update
from an older installation were not performed for this release. - Account usage is requested at startup and on manual refresh. Availability
depends on the installed CLI and its signed-in account; the app does not
infer an unlimited allowance when a limit is missing. - Memory reports only the Blackholes process, excluding agent, shell, and
WebKit subprocesses. Terminal count includes open terminal panes. - Website recordings may show an earlier interface.

Blackholes 0.1.9
Blackholes 0.1.9
Blackholes brings terminal agent sessions, task context, and repositories
together in one workspace.
Changes
- Removed the built-in bot conversations and internal chat engine. Continue
using installed coding-agent CLIs in native terminals, with provider accounts,
session restoration, and MCP task launches. - Click a task title to edit its objective, acceptance criteria, pull request
link, and external task link. Agents can read and update these fields through
MCP. Unsaved drafts survive navigation within the current app session;
concurrent changes preserve the draft for reconciliation. - Project titles open an overview of tasks, repositories, and sessions. Existing
task notes are available read-only under Previous notes; previous project
and task note files remain on disk. - Task and repository
+menus offer Blank Terminal, Claude, and
Codex. Task…menus contain Edit task and Delete task. - The project-tree collapse button now uses a double up-chevron.
- Quick Open (
Cmd+O) supportsCmd+A,Cmd+C,Cmd+X, andCmd+V
through the native clipboard. - Creating a project without selecting repositories now creates and registers
a Git repository inside its container, including an initial commit for task
worktrees. Existing empty projects are not modified automatically. - Updated the README, task and MCP documentation, and public release guide.
Install or update
Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Download
Blackholes-0.1.9-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications.
Existing signed installations can use the in-app updater. Save pending work
and close active sessions before installing an update.
The release includes the DMG installer, a Sparkle update ZIP and appcast,
corresponding source, and SHA-256 checksums. Provider CLIs are installed and
authenticated separately; they are not bundled with Blackholes.
Validation and limitations
- Release compilation uses
./scripts/build-releasefor the embedded frontend
and Rust binaries. Distribution artifacts are signed and notarized before
publication, with signature, ticket, and checksum verification. - Automated tests, application launches, manual installation, and an update
from an older installation were not performed for this release. - Native notification behavior is unchanged. Notices depend on macOS
notification permission and presentation settings. - Website recordings show an earlier interface.
Corresponding source: 2dea2c1.
Blackholes 0.1.8
Blackholes 0.1.8 is available for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later.
- macOS notifications now use Blackholes' own identity and icon. Clicking a notification brings the app forward, restores its minimized window, and opens the associated task, terminal, or Black Bot conversation. Notification destinations are retained for handling after relaunch through normal session restoration.
- Managed task workspaces and attached worktrees are registered in supported installed agents' workspace trust settings when created or added, and removed from those settings when deleted or detached.
Download Blackholes-0.1.8-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes into Applications. Existing signed installations can also use Check for updates. Provider CLIs remain separately installed by the user.
The first macOS notification requests permission if needed. Bare development executables keep their in-app notices and attention sound; macOS notification delivery requires the packaged app.
Release validation covers compilation, Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, stapled tickets, update-feed metadata, and artifact checksums. Runtime notification, installation, and updater flows were not exercised for this release.

Blackholes 0.1.7
Blackholes 0.1.7 for Apple Silicon (arm64), macOS 13 or later.
Changes
- Start task agents directly from MCP. Implementation task creation launches a visible terminal by default; batches can launch up to eight existing tasks with their briefs and project permissions.
- Automatically prepare the Blackholes MCP connection and routing skill for external Codex and Claude Code profiles on app startup and after updates. Settings shows connection status and offers a refresh action.
- Use the coding-agent CLIs installed on your computer, resolved through your login-shell PATH. The app retains a private Node engine and SDK bridge, and no longer bundles provider CLIs or npm/npx.
Installation and requirements
Download Blackholes-0.1.7-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blackholes to Applications. Save work and quit the previous version before replacing it. Compatible installed versions can discover this release through Check for updates.
Install and update the provider CLIs you use (Codex, Claude Code, Gemini, OpenCode, or Antigravity) separately. Provider sign-in and repository-specific development tools remain separate requirements. After installation, open Blackholes from Applications and start new external agent sessions to use the updated MCP integration.
Validation and limitations
Release compilation, Developer ID signatures, Apple notarization, stapled tickets, Sparkle feed metadata, and artifact SHA-256 checksums are validated before publication. Compilation reports warnings about unused Rust code and Monaco's IIFE import.meta output.
No automated tests, app launch, installation, or end-to-end update checks were performed for this release. Provider compatibility depends on the installed CLI version. Automatic prompted task launch supports Codex, Claude, Gemini, and OpenCode; Antigravity remains a manual terminal workflow.
The matching source archive and SHA256SUMS.txt are included with this release.
