MeshOS Companion v1.0.16

Wardriving comes to the phone: log signal coverage with your phone's GPS, share it
with the community, and see everyone's coverage on the map.

Wardriving

• New Wardrive pill on the map (top right). Switch it on to log the signal of
  every packet your radio hears, stamped with your phone's GPS position, and see
  the coverage heatmap. Uploads to the community map every 10 minutes.
• Logging keeps running with the screen off, so you can put the phone in your
  pocket or leave it on the dash.
• Blur / grid button next to the pill switches between smooth predicted
  coverage and sharp per-cell readings, matching the coverage map on the website.
• No radio connected? The heatmaps still display; only logging needs a radio.

Community map

• New world button on the map shows every node from the public MeshCore users
  map as blue discs, over the coverage heatmaps. Zoom in and each disc is labelled
  with the first byte of its public key.
• Map legend now reads "Nodes heard on RF" and "Community Map" with matching
  coloured dots.

Map improvements

• The map now opens centred on your position instead of zoomed out to the
  whole world.
• Your position marker and your radio's marker now update live as you move,
  instead of lagging behind.
• The locate button gains a follow-me mode that keeps the map centred on you
  while you drive; pan the map to release it.
• Node markers show the first byte of their public key once you zoom in.
• Tap a node on the map and you can jump straight to it in the Heard List.

Fixes

• Fixed coverage cells being logged in the wrong place (up to one cell north
  of where they were recorded).
• Fixed map tiles stuck showing "API key required". Old cached tiles are now
  cleared automatically on update, and there is a new Clear Map Tiles button in
  Settings → Data if you ever need it again.
• Background GPS is now declared correctly for Android 14+, so wardriving keeps
  logging reliably when the app is in the background.

Install

Download MeshOS-v1.0.16.apk and open it to install. Existing users upgrade in
place, keeping their messages and license.
