Writing

• Find & Replace (⌘F): in the chapter or the whole book, with match case and whole words. Replace All can be undone.
• Headings and subheadings (⇧⌘H, ⌥⇧⌘H), bulleted and numbered lists (⇧⌘U, ⇧⌘7). They print, export and show in EPUB.
• Comments (⇧⌘M): highlight text and leave a note to yourself. Never printed; ⌥⌘M jumps to the next one. Claude can read them.
• Focus mode (⇧⌘F): the panels slide away and only the paragraph you are writing stays fully inked.
• Repeated words (⌃⌘R, off by default): dotted underline when a distinctive word comes back within 80 words. For revision passes.

Chapters

• Versions: File → Save Version of This Chapter (⌥⌘V). Compare word by word, restore, or go back to the automatic version saved before Claude rewrote a chapter.
• Scenes under each chapter in the sidebar: click to jump, drag to reorder.
• Words today in the status bar, and the last two weeks under the book goal.

Design

• Six chapter-heading styles (Classic, Small caps, Uppercase, Big numeral, Rules, Plain) and six scene-break ornaments.
• Footnotes at the bottom of the page (Design → Chapters → Notes). Identical in the editor and the PDF.
• Hardcover covers: Design → Cover → Binding. KDP case-laminate wrap, hinge and spine.

Export

• Word document (.docx) in manuscript format, with footnotes, comments, images and lists, for editors and beta readers.
• Preview ebook (⌘3): page through the EPUB on a reader-shaped screen.

Also

• Every control has a quick hover tip.
• New Claude tools: get_comments, list_versions, move_scene, export_docx.

Known limitation: with page footnotes, a paragraph longer than a page that has no italics, note or comment above the page break needs one internal split, and ⌘Z may not undo typing in its tail.
