VSCode today improved support for BYOK and the use of external language model provider extensions with Copilot.

There are a couple of unofficial extensions adding this support in Copilot, I was wondering if there is a plan to add an official extension to support OpenCode Go/Zen.

any update to this? vscode version 1.122 has been released with this great BYOK support. now adding model details manually to chatLanguageModels is really a hassle.
Even if there is an enpoint that returns the json that we could use, it would be perfect. right now I could only find this endpoint https://opencode.ai/zen/go/v1/models that doesn't include details like context length, etc...

vscode version 1.122 has been released with this great BYOK support.

It is "simple" enough to hand-edit the settings file to import OpenCode Go models (with oai-compatible-provider), but...

Qwen 3.7 Max unfortunately doesn't work with BYOK (in VSCode's built-in Copilot Chat) while MiMo / GLM / DeepSeek have no issues.

Thanks. The issue turned out to be that Qwen 3.7 Max uses "Anthropic-compatible" APIs (also mentioned in opencode docs), and setting it up as such with VSCode Copilot Chat BYOK fixed it.

Pikacnu/opencode-copilot-chat maintains a full list of models configuration JSON for Copilot Chat BYOK.

I would be nice to have an "Official" version to use Opencode Zen / Go in VS Code's Copilot
