Claude Code running on your phone, inside a real Ubuntu 20.04 environment. No root, no unlocked bootloader, no Termux.

Install

Android 13, 14 and 15 will warn "This app was built for an older version of Android". That is expected — tap More details → Install anyway.

Mobile Agent targets API 28 on purpose. Since Android 10, an app targeting API 29 or higher cannot execute files in its own data directory, and the Ubuntu environment, Node.js and Claude Code all live there. API 28 is the only level where the Linux runtime works. Termux targets 28 for the same reason.

If no "Install anyway" option appears, Play Protect is blocking it rather than Android: turn off Play Store → profile → Play Protect → Scan apps, install, then turn it back on. Or use adb install Sid-Agent-v1.0.0.apk.

Android 9.0 or newer (API 28+)
CPU ARM64 (arm64-v8a) or 32-bit ARM (armeabi-v7a)
RAM 4 GB recommended, 2 GB minimum
Storage ~2 GB free for the Linux environment
Network Wi-Fi for first setup (~500 MB download)

What it does

  • Agentic coding — the real Claude Code CLI, streaming its reasoning, edits and commands
  • Ubuntu 20.04 via PRoot — Node.js, git, ripgrep, and optional Python, PHP, C/C++ and Java toolchains through apt
  • Your real files — choose during setup whether projects live in phone storage; device storage is mounted in the guest at /sdcard
  • Phone control — a phone command that lists and launches apps, opens URLs, reads notifications, and can read and drive the screen
  • Any provider — Anthropic, OpenAI, Kimi, an LLM router, or any Anthropic-compatible endpoint
  • Checkpoints and diffs — review, accept or roll back every change

32-bit ARM

ARMv7 devices run the JavaScript build of Claude Code (pinned to 2.1.112, the last release shipping a runnable cli.js), because Anthropic publishes no linux-arm native binary. ARM64 devices get the current native binary. See docs/32-BIT-SUPPORT.md.

Known limitations

  • Not on Google Play, and will not be — a Play release would require deleting the Ubuntu environment, apt, and the C/C++, Java and PHP toolchains. See docs/PLAY_STORE_REALITY.md.
  • PRoot intercepts every syscall through ptrace, so builds run slower than native.
  • ARMv7 Claude Code is frozen at 2.1.112 upstream.
