Android client for the BeHappy messaging service.
This project is a fork of Telegram for Android. It is licensed under GPL v2 (or later), the same terms as the upstream project. We are grateful to the Telegram for Android Authors for their work — without it this fork would not exist.
BeHappy for Android is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Telegram FZ-LLC. It connects to BeHappy servers, not Telegram servers, and cannot be used to access Telegram accounts.
BeHappy for Android is the official Android client for the BeHappy messenger. It is built on top of the Telegram for Android codebase under GPL v2, with the following high-level modifications:
- Networking layer rewritten to use the MVSy 1.0 protocol and connect to BeHappy backend servers (instead of MTProto 2.0 / Telegram DCs).
- Branding, visual identity, and product naming replaced throughout.
- Telegram-specific features removed where not applicable to BeHappy (e.g., Telegram Premium subscriptions, Telegram Stars, Fragment integration, sponsored messages).
- Additional features added that are unique to BeHappy.

We do not merge updates from upstream automatically. The fork is independently maintained.

Build instructions are inherited from upstream. The only change is configuration:
- Use the BeHappy backend endpoint instead of Telegram DCs (configured in the resources).
- Bundle the BeHappy app icon and resources in place of Telegram's.
