Sóþspell v0.3.1
Sóþspell v0.3.1
The first public GitHub source release. It rolls up the v1, next-stage, and
canvas eras, plus the canvas interaction patch.
Sóþspell is an AI-guided project walkthrough application. It analyzes a codebase
read-only and generates a cinematic, semi-interactive tour with synchronized
narration, diagrams, and highlighted code anchors.

- Stage playback — chapters, beats, synchronized narration, diagrams, and
code anchors in a clean devtool player. - Canvas playback — opt-in
?view=canvaswith evidence links, multiple
diagrams, symbol relations, zoom/fit/home, fullscreen, an outline, and local
view preferences. - Direct manipulation — resize, move, close, and reopen code containers;
select diagram objects; highlight connected evidence and flow edges. - Accessibility — arrow/HJKL paths, screen-reader announcements, high
contrast, forced colours, a colour-blind palette, 200% text, and a compact
layout below 768 px. - Export — PNG/JPG of the current view or whole canvas, plus a
selectable-text print-to-PDF handout. - Authoring and reach — local and GitHub import, Claude Code/Codex/OpenCode
harness adapters, Python/Go/Rust/Java analyzers, translation, human review,
accounts and run sync, and an embeddable player. - Local-first — snapshots, tours, audio, and runs live under
$SOTHSPELL_HOME; project trees stay read-only.
Verification
pnpm test→ 128 files / 1066 tests.pnpm test:browser→ 121 passed, including 7 interaction journeys; CI runs
119 passed with 2 live Bunbun specs skipped.pnpm test:coverage→ 95.7% lines overall; canvas 96.16%, analyzer relations
97.91%, API relations 94.44%.pnpm test:canvas:perf→ p50 16.7 ms, p95 16.8 ms, 0 long tasks.- Typecheck, lint, version check, build, bundle, toolchain, secrets, and audit
clean; Bunbun remains read-only.
Known limitations
- VoiceOver/NVDA, a real Save-as-PDF, real-device touch, Firefox, and WebKit are
manual/owner-gated. - Canvas stays opt-in; the stage is the default and the embed player does not
include the canvas. - There is no npm package or hosted demo. This release is source-only.
- There is no canvas-specific code split yet; the bundle report records the
total instead of claiming the 60 KiB canvas budget. - In-text identifier links are deferred; diagram objects, container headers, and
the outline open definitions.
