[BUG] Android app hangs indefinitely when Claude Code environment fails to start

What's Wrong?

After multiple messages, app shows 'starting claude code' with unresponsive stop button"

Anthropic's mobile team needs to fix. The environment manager should have proper timeout and error handling.

Steps to Reproduce

I'm a new user to the Android app but it happened in 2 of my 4 threads thus far. I'm not sure if it's repeatable with anything specific, just multiple messages to/from sonnet and it hangs.
The send arrow turns to processing square (which becomes unresponsive) and my last message disappears from the screen completely

This issue has been around for months.. please someone cares enough to look at it, the app isn't functional at all

I'm hitting this issue too, a few extra details:

• The latest message you send before this issue occurs doesn't end up getting saved, which is particularly annoying because you can't just copy paste it + other relevant context to a new chat, and typing long messages can be pretty time consuming on mobile.
• The session can be revived by opening it on claude desktop. After continuing in claude desktop, I was able to then resume from my phone.
• I had this issue occur once after the first message in a session, so it doesn't even need to be resuming an existing conversation.

This bug makes the mobile version of claude code almost unusable since conversations and their context can just be completely blocked at any time. It also seems very common, my first 3 sessions had this issue within a few minutes of starting.

Related note: It'd be great if there was a way to report an issue in the app that would automatically include the context, for example in the top right dropdown menu in a session it could have a button to report a problem.

For anyone running into this, the web app seems to work well for me. Just go to https://claude.ai/code in chrome, click the chrome menu in the top right, add to home screen, and then install the app that way. The only annoying thing I've found is that pressing enter sends by default so you have to remember to press shift enter to do new lines

Also happening to me about 50% of the time after I send in a message. I also get repeated permission requests even if the conversation isn't progressing.

Also, looks like it still uses up tokens in this state, which is especially annoying.
